The Ball (What happened!)

To sum up the events of tonight (For Turamber :) , or the people who did not attend):

We all met at 20.00 CET in the main halls of Camelot. The one with the round table.

Monarva and her "Death Metal Minstrels" :p welcomed people with music, as they slowly filled the room.

Shortly after, Kenza welcomed people, introducing them to the band, and Andrew "Tom Cruise" Lee, the fabulous Cocktail host of the evening.

After some time of Mingling, Astariel unfolded a terrifying tale, of Kings and Trolls, with much rejoicing.

People then had a few drinks, had a few laughs. the usual, while Monarva rocked the house.

Now, at this time, everything got a bit, confusing.

Carrain was up there, singing poetry, while all of a sudden, the kobold, " Maspalio, the Royal Buffoon " thought he'd have a dance to the music. He was all inpolite and rude about it, so one of the Death Minstrels quickly finnished him off.
During this commotion, Carrain sang on, well done old chap! Heart of gold, and nerves of steel!

Some time after this, when people had settled again, after the bloody slaughter of a barbaric dog (Maspalio) , it was time to make a knight of Graham.

I mean, this guy has it all. He is brave, honourable, mighty, heroic, and heartbroken. That is the true virtues of a knight.

So, we had Lady Lunar Darkshadow perform the ceremony (The actual ceremony, i might add), as the noble she is.

And now, the big finale. The Fire Dancers....

This was not a show for the weak at heart! Lightning, Fire poisonous clouds swirling around the magnificent dancers, all moving in unison.

It was such a great show, that we had Seargeant Byron talk to the Master of Ceremonies. He used some of his Strong Will, the army man he is, to persuade the Master of Ceremonies.

So, after a few stories told by willing guests, we had a second performance of the Fire Dance.

At this point, the arranged festivities ended, and people were left to their own entertainment.

It was truly a night to remember!

(On another note. Maspalio was NOT planned. dont know why he got there, dont know why the Death Minstrels killed him. Very odd.... )

(on yet another note. We were too busy to take screenshots, as we were all over the place, all the time. But Lady Lunar were busy with the camera, and should post the best ones shortly. i hope)

What a wonderful evening

I must say, GOOD JOB!!!! to all that had anything to do with this ball.
I had a great time and really enjoyed the show, the firedancers was the top of it I must say, I seldom get surprised, but those really took my breath away and only Zoe in her beauty usually is capable of that. <smiles>

Thank you for the fun, I hope this is merely the beginning of more frequent events coming up.

I havent RP'd much in my days in Daoc, but I know now that it adds a nice flavour to this otherwise great game.

/salutes to you all and especially to sir Graham who now is a knight! <claps Graham on the shoulder>
Good work mate

btw, some yellow dressed Elf is soooo gonna get to taste my pole. I cant wait to meet him again. ;)

edit: kudos to Kemor for making this possible /bow

'Twas quite amusing, the band made me smile :) Whoever gave some of those poor minstrels studded armour? ;)

The Fire Dance show was rather spectacular; large assortment of spelleffects used on that one :)

<walks in, still sore after all the pitchers of ale and the Ellyl beating-up>

Aye, a grand 'thank you!' to all whom helped organize this, players and GameMasters alike.
Truly a night to remember, in many ways.
The ball with it's Fire Dancers, Maspolio, the band, the knighting of meself <takes a deep bow and blushes yet again> and all other things that happened on and after it, truly made me feel again what a great game this is and can be.

But what made me most happy (and to an extent rather surprised), was the number of people that turned up that I had either never seen before or people I knew, but had no idea they did enjoy a piece of RolePlaying every now and then.
There seem to be more of us RPer's than (at least) I thought and it was a very happy surprise indeed.

I also quiet enjoyed the episode when some poor lost soul entered the halls and uttered a few rude words.
Sergeant Byron (Kemor, Zargar, someone else?) then merely said something in the line of 'He will not trouble us anymore.'
After that I could not see the poor soul again, was he teleported to Yggdra? <laughs>
Oh and he also had the honour of making number 2 on my Ignore List, feel proud young one <chuckles>

And finally...
Smythe, if you ever again attend a gathering and serve ale once more (a job which you handled with great skill and dedication, I might add <smiles>), please serve me no more than 10 next time...
<rubs his forehead and walks out>

And now for some etchings:

Fire Dancers 1
Fire Dancers 2
Fire Dancers 3
Fire Dancers 4
Fire Dancers 5

This was a most entertaining evening indeed! I met a number of new people at the ball, enjoyed the band enourmously, drank way too much ale ("Smythes! Another if you will, my man!"), recited a tale about brave Sir Graham (/salute), and then watched in awe as the Firedancers rpeformed their act.

All in all, a great event, so I extend my thanks to all those involved in organising it - well done!

The Ball!

What a wonderful ball it was! It was delightful, and a big big thank you to one and all who were involved in organising it. Marvellous!

I've made a few personal notes about events, and in particular wish to thank Astariel for the tale of our good King.

We really must do that again!

Great thanks to everyone who was involved! That was wonderful, and nice ot see so many people there!

I did like that friar .. Rodriguez? What a charming chap, and so different from the many menbers of the church who seem to lack good personal skills! (Hope to see a little more of him in future ;) )

Good for you Ociros -- roleplay should be inclusive, not exclusive! No one is a roleplay "n00b" (hate that expression!) just someone learning the ropes; it should be encouraged and not discouraged :)
