The latest Iain M Banks now out in paperback, I'm about a third of the way through and it is already looking to be a continuation of the master of science fiction at his finest.
Non-Culture book, a bit similar to Feersum Endjinn.
Bloody good read,
I didn't even know it was coming out, I stumbled across it in an Airport. Almost a love story in parts, lots of action, twisting plot, all round good one.
Picked it up in the airport yesterday, seems ok ( about 1/2 way through ).
Writers like banks/clancy/ etc. can just churn this shit out though and people will buy it regardless, I buy this sort of stuff for airplane journeys :-]
The difference being that people like Banks churn pure fucking gold out, I have really, really enjoyed all of his books, without exception.
The algebraist is a good read, although I did guess the big secret quite early on (the hints are all there!) so was a touch dissapointed that I got it right but that's what being a clever **** will do eh
