when will BW be updating the servers to 1.2???

yeah, it never even occured to me that i wouldn't be able to play on BW until they updated the servers i spent most of my time trying to figure out if the patch was official, as some people are saying it isn't, but that's only because it's not available from the Raven site, only from the startrek.com gaming section.

hope they update soon - i'm sure loads of people using Gamespy will download the patch via that, then they won't be play, like me!

I just updated to 1.2 and then was baffled when I couldn't find the BW servers. I hope they upgrade the servers soon.

1.2 patch

To the person who thinks this patch isnt official do you allways go around with your head in the sand. It was stated a few days ago that the patch was complete and almost ready to be uploaded.

Also problems with the server is annoying. Seeing as some Americans are unaware that us Brits have a Holiday weekend so I doubt very much if the servers will get updated till Tuesday at the earliest.... I hope they get don a lot sooner but well there you go. If you have Gamespy check the servers out on Gamespy by clicking on them and seeing in the bottom right hand window and check to see what Protocol the server is using.

Protocol 23 = vr 1.10 patch
Protocol 24 - vr 1.20 patch

Also there are a few privately owned servers using the new patch so try with those.

Is it my imagination, or have they changed the coding in 1.20, to try and match everybodys ping to be about the same. Played on some different servers (Sorry not BW, because they havn't been upgraded yet), and when somebody joined who had a ping of about 500, everybody else changed to match - and it was totally unplayable - Has anyone else noticed this...?

Yeah, I have noticed that too!

I think I was on ARENA something or other server when it happend. I was playing with 3 [HN] clan guys when a newbie turned up with a high ping and that was that.....Everyones ping jumped up to 500 n something and there was a 2 sec delay before the photon left the photon launcher.....most distressing!

Considering I have a cable Modem connection and normally ping around 30....I almost brokedown and cried...LOL

Has anyone noticed this happening on a number of different servers though cos it may just be that particular server or something???

I was on NGUK CTF 2 playing geothermal.

I joined in and had a ping of around 233 ( on a 56k modem)with a nearly full server). Now most of the other peeps had a few hingh pings but the server was laggy as hell. and a few of the peeps did the ol Matrix style pose with phasers and photons firing all still inb the server. hmmmm the Matrix bug nice one. I had the same thing happen to me on my own LAN whilst playing Voy 1 on CTF. very distressing when your ping shoots through the roof on your own LAN
