Well done Mythic/Goa the PVP server works like a dream, had very few problems, it's only downfall is it's popularity.
I managed to get on and make a char that night about 11pm.

All this of course for NO extra cost, all that work, all that extra server space for no increase in my monthly subscription.
What are you people whining about?

I still think its great that there is a new server. But, I'm not whining about the exact costs, but, that we all (daoc-players)could do the same things with our account. Because we paid for the same services.

It's nice to see some people looking at this thing in a sensible way (a rare thing indeed on Barry's). And it speaks volumes about this forum that hardly anyone has even bothered to reply to it, while other posts spouting total crap about name thieves etc get 3 or 4 pages. I've managed to get some rewarding play in on the few hours I've managed to get on from about 11ish at night (like many players I cant play all night due to work etc... ) and I'm impressed.

The server runs really well in my opinion. Considering it's maxed out pretty much 24hrs a day it's handling it okay. Mythic were right to only make one server to start with. They are a business after all and it wouldn't make business sense to spend money running two servers, which would soon be half empty and barely paying for themselves. If they did then they'd be wasting their resources, would go bankrupt and then we'd have no DAOC Europe at all. Better to push this one out into the water and see how it copes over a period before deciding whether to open another one. Some players seem unable to think beyond their immediate need to get online and any notion of patience goes out the window.

And I agree 100% with job, we cant really complain about how unfair it is that we are paying for something we cant do (yet). We're not paying any more than we were last week right? And last week there was no new server at all and zero possibility of anyone trying PvP out. Eventually you are certain to get your chance, and for no extra cost.

Holy crap I don't half go on when I get started It might just be late enough to get on Camlann and level to 10.
Now who wants to give me my virgin ganking.....

Just for the sake of giving credit I think I should reply

As the above poster stated these boards are filled with 'Piss off!!1!' threads and just about every single thread in here gets flamed, which actually is quite sad.

For PvP it really is fun =p just the (very rare) ld can get you down as it guarentees you a long wait to play again. And being PKed ain't all that bad. Just not fun when it happens over and over in a short period of time.

Anyways I hope to keep this a flameless thread!
