Vonyc, Lochlyessa, Pelinore, Erodafira and a couple of others I can't remember the names of this morning for helping me with the doors at Excal last night. Good to see that some of the 30-40 albs stood around felt able to contribute to defending their relics.

When the doors to Excal are open and there are 4 or so full groups of albs stood around. I shout in the cg and on /br multiple times for wood to repair the doors and only 3 or 4 people come forwards with cash or wood donations.
I think that stinks tbh. I spent nearly 4 plat of my own cash on the doors, and I don't care about the money it's more the fact that nobody else seemed to care about the doors to the relic keep being left wide open.

I have just had an amazing Idea. When I salvage all the drops I get I will create a mini mule and dump all the wood on him, send him to CS so he can sit there and whenever those nasty mids (hibs never try) have a go at our relics I can log him on and donate a load of wood to the carpenters. This will cost me very little as I will only be using usless drops (such as my Quaterstaff with +5 stealth +3 enhance) and it will help the realm.

Other Albs please feel free to copy this idea.

Very good idea!

It has its ups and downs Chretien. sometimes, you can fundraise 10 plat in 20 minutes and 2 full groups for wood trains, sometimes, you can only raise enough for one single repair.

Mostly, you can raise enough, if you apply the right tactic.
Spam. capital letters, yelling spam. and lots of it. People in general, can _always_ spare 100g. if you can spam enough for 50 people to do that, you have 5 plat, which is a good start.

Last weekend (i think it was?) i raised enough for outer and inner door fully, and tower door from 60% to full. Took about an hour, but it got done

i was in on this defence, and it vould have ben done in 5 mins with all the albs there was... around 200!

i only donated 100g couse i am very poor atm (have aboute 1.5p).. if every1 had done that we would have 20p! 100g is not that much... and DONT think "every1 else will pay, so theyl get enugh" couse i can garante u that the man stabding next to u is also thinking that!

which was why it took an hour of spamming. it takes time to make everyone realize that they will lose the relics if the doors arent repaired. Thats how it is. After all, nobody is forced to pay. if you dont want to, fair enough

Problem was at 1am people weren't hanging around for any great length of time. I spammed for as long as there were people to hear the spam. Eventually I got the door to 95% and I logged out inside with 37 silver to my name.
