Thane´s aren´t that gimped then!

I´ve always thought that Thane´s really sucked, but now that I´ve fought some meleers I´ve noticed that this isn´t so true.

Duels from distance(so that I can throw in one hammer)
i´ve won 5 out of 6 zerkers
2 out of 2 warriors
4 out of 4 sb´s (Pbaoe is Nice)
and 3 out of 3 skalds

funny isn´t it?
the truth is that I´m lucky, all duels base on how much you roll, do you block etc

The thane insta DD damage has got much better does a lot more damage. Though all these duels are without any active RA´s.

i think its more in Mass RvR that thanes suffer, your rarely in a position where your in a proper duel either somody healing or somthing.

Then theres the thane HP (same as a rouges) two simple fixes could sort it all out for thanes

1. Create a new HP table for thanes, somwhere in between Warriors and Shadowblades (possibly the Seer HP Table?)

2. Add a Snare into the thane AE to make it RvR viable, last time i saw a thane cast his AE hammer (which was a very, very long time ago) there was no end to the ammount of flaming the poor guy got, it didn't matter that i had anticipated this and used my AE stun it was the fact that he had broken what seems to be no-days the sacred 'Thougt shalt not AE' commandment.

Adding in a snare for XX% would make this less of a problem.

i won 4 duels against 4 diffrent lvl 50 thanes today was fun

the block/parry code works different in a duel than regular RvR (unless you are actually duel a lone something and are alone yourself). Aside from that, i doubt duels in-realm work the same way as a duels betwean realms, ive seen a few bugs sofar and seeing how badly coded this game already is i expect alot more

Thane's are far from gimped in duels

Lost to a few. Mainly cuz of my 12% crush resist. hehe.. and no defensive RA's and "duel equipment" :>

Had a few duels (/yawn now), and won 50/50 Id say. Main ones I lost were against gimps who insist on the use of IP or purge to get rid of the slam stun, laim IMO. Fight fair eh, or your char that bad? Oh what embarassment you must feel being beaten by a gimp, seems some cant face it.

Yes we got a lil luvin this patch, yes our DDs have got better, but still Mjolliner is the thorn in our side RvR style. Most of us have 2 killing quickbars, one for mob killing with Mjolliner, one for RvR without it. To us its a last resort.

As for our insta STAE, well its sucks, because normally the enemy is by then close enough to take you out anyway. A snare type thing would be great. It has been suggested on the VN forums before, but alas, nothing ever appeared.

Thanes are and always will be 20% caster, 60% melle and 20% thats been given to other chars.

Zerkers and warriors get cheap purge and ip for a reason

Ie the 300+ damage you do to us before we even get toe to toe.

I've only duelled one Runie so far, but he lost to me with no more than a single hit getting in, or maybe even none, can't remember

As a Warrior I've managed to beat a Hunter and that's it (Thank's Spix )

Lost 4 against Shaman (level 46)
Lost 2 against Berzerkers
Lost 1 against Warrior (was uber Splash0r though )
Lost 1 against Skald ( I did win but only because he danced with me, to show I should surrender to avoid rez sick, and I was dishonourable and killed him )

Hehehe!

You must admit I did well considering my spear spec is 39+14 and my only way to stun is a rear style that I managed to pull off somehow lol
And my amazing hp that is 1090

Must change the rules on duels, lets start at 1500 range and see who is on top (Shields are banned)
