Hi Laz

Looks to be about on the money. A decent 17" LCD monitor should set you back around £150 these days. I'm not too sure about the make, and I wouldn't buy it for the speakers, but otherwise it looks good. Lacks DVI but at that price point it's to be expected (and perhaps no real loss?).

Note that if you're feeling flush 19" LCDs retailed in the £190s nowadays.

Kind Regards

Hi Laz

pcg79 is spot on. The standard 'D-Sub' connection from your card to your monitor is essentially analogue, whereas 'DVI' is digital. They say DVI offers LCDs improved picture quality, less interference and all the usual benefits of digital, but I must say I've never personally had reason to complain about the traditional 'D-Sub' method. If you had the choice between the two, use DVI, but if the monitor doesn't support it then I personally wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

Kind Regards

Jonty

P.S. DVI on Wikipedia

A nice thing about DVI (I assume its like that on all models, not just my screen) was that I didnt need any trapezoid adjusting etc, it was just perfect.

Actually, when I'm running DVI I cant even access those options on my screen :D
Also, it might just be me looking for something to make DVI seem better, but the screen seems brighter and more.... alive when using DVI.

As for the pricetag, it's ok. Personally I'd go with something that didnt come with speakers tho :)

Can't see a lot off odds between my DVI monitor and my analogue TBH.
