Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003

Saw this yesterday, wasnt a HUGE fan of the original, but it scared the shit out of me, none the less.

This new release isnt terrible by any means, much better than the standard we have coming out at the moment, which consists of cabin fever, jeepers creepers 2 & house of 1000 corpses. TCM is better than all over these titles, with enough violence to satisfy.
Rather than a family of men to be the rednecks in this version, leatherface is joined by his mother along with the rest of the family, which in my opinion, loses the scary aspect. Thats just me though, I think it loses scaryness if there's added femininity, but other people may disagree.

Probably 7/10 which is pretty good for today's horror movie scene.

How can you improve on the original? Hollywood cash cow. Will never see this remake in a million years.

I heard it got panned by critics in the states and is shit.

Anyway I generally am disdainful of remakes so shall be adding this to the avoid list.

Well as I said it's not terrible, working in a cinema I dont give any money to the industry so i'm not helping them make shit movies. that jessica beil is so fucking fit in this movie, dammit.

I thought the first film was hilarious. I just couldn't stop laughing at the fat guy in the stupid mask running around with a chainsaw. Especially through the sheets.
