I'm a 'noob' because I refuse to fight infiltrators on their terms - ie. I avoid melee with them if I can as much as possible (and escape whenever I can), and kite them whenever possible. That apparantly isn't allowed in their view of how things should be, and thus I'm a noob.

Playing to your strengths and avoiding situations where you're forced to play on your weaknesses isn't a valid tactic for as far as these complainers are concerned. Let them /laugh, /rolf and zerg me. Every time I make a clean get-away and leave one of those overpowered melee-monsters frustrated behind me makes up for the times that I don't.

Some people can't handle that, and feel the need to post in unrelated threads, or start brand fresh whines about it on FH. (This being my fourth whine-thread. I'm going places. /flex!)

All it does is show how inexperienced they themselves are, and unable to adapt to someone playing with a different tactic than the standard melee-hunter.

Actually yeah its that Tesla I was after - And no its not a whine and no Im not advising you on how to play ..but you jumped my rr 2 nightshade yesterday on the busy route between berk and beno which was covered in mids and you set ure pet on me and ran off to a load of mids ..

whether you like to play cautiously or not ..whether you want to fight nightshades infils scouts etc or not .. that tactic is pretty gay. you unstealthed me onfront of 15 - 20 mids and ran away and its not the first time .. if you dont want to fight a rr 2 nightshade you might do the decent thing and not unstealth me onfront of a zerg cause thats the kind of thing that makes good solo players quit ...

just an opinion .. maybe next time we can have a fair fight .

and also just reminding you .. play style is one thing ..and if fall back and wait for a better fight is ure play style ? thats fine with me - u pay ure subs .. but please .. for another solo stealther out there having to deal with high rr mincers / scouts / infils trios duos and getting added on by warlocks etc -- you might be a bit more considerate towards my play style ..which is to fight anything I can one on one without adding on anyone else or grief gaming .. I dont pop stealther soloers on front of other hibs albs - just a thought .

If I see an enemy stealther and they see/might have seen me and it's too late for me to take the initiative or all my tools are down, I have these options:

a) try to stealth away which might or might not work, depending on their level of MoS, and how good they are at outguessing my path of choice (preferred method, as it doesn't give away my cover to anyone else in the area)
b) Blow their cover (with a pet or a GS charge), forcing them to decide whether to attack or retreat. In the meantime I can make myself scarce, possibly to kite them if no others show up or just to abandon the fight altogether. If there are other middies in the area, so much the better, it all helps to distract.
c) ignore them. This usually gets me killed.

I don't do this all the time. Sometimes I don't see solo stealthers, or I leave them be (Hi, Vodkafairy!). If there's multiple stealthers running in a bunch, I'll ALWAYS uncover them in front of Middies if it is within my power.

It sucks if it happens to you, as it's happened to me. I'm not complaining about it, and can live with it. It's part of RVR. 'Soloing' an assassin class is only possible if I see them first, get a critshot off that hits and they are stupid enough to run into my FZ. Otherwise it's impossible for a bow huntress.

So a 'fair' fight is a matter of opinion.

Fair enough, but in the end it isn't Belomar's call anyway. If he deserves a ban according to the mods, he'll get one. Not because he reported it (and he wasn't the only one who reported it).

As far as I'm concerned, anyone who replies to threads in the way Eeben did, off-topic and insulting can get a free vacation from this place. Like I said, it's fine to disagree, but keep it civilised. If you can't, then stay away.

i agree, and as far as i can see i never took over eeben's defense (which would have been pretty stupid) but i have the right to tell belomar that he shouldnt post crap he doesnt even have a clue about.

One question for you though. Being a high RR now using whatever methods you have done (not flaming, just saying ), why don't you take on a more melee orientated role?. Evo is spear spec'd iirc and it's always interesting to come up vs him (or was). Sniper spec is just asking for trouble imo :s

A number of reasons, really.

1) Hunter is the only archer class in Midgard. It feels that I bring more to my realm if I actually spec that way, instead of just another invisible tank.
2) Almost every other hunter is playing melee specced, if I wanted to play melee stealther, I'd build myself an SB.
3) I consider it a challenge to play a huntress as full bow. Everyone seems to think that the class is only viable as melee. It takes different tactics to pull off wins and makes finding viable prey a challenge.
4) High MoS (essential for the spec) makes it so that I can warn others for incoming stealther (groups). Makes me feel useful if I can warn Middies about impeding doom, and turn the tables on the stealthers when they least expect it.

Snornig and Kipu are great in melee, but I prefer my bow. It's impossible to max out both skill ranges in TOA, so you have to pick either full melee or full bow. I know I'm not on the top of anyone's Popularity Rating, but hell, I don't care. As long as the people understand why I play the way I play, that's fine.

It's kinda like Dafft and his melee scout setup. It's fun and different. (And he's a tough cookie whereas I'm more like soggy cake when it comes to melee.
