Yeah, I do kinda agree with that however:
What with Charlie getting pulped the previous episode, it is starting to feel like they're just killing off all but the main characters in the hopes of railroading the plot in a different direction at the start of the next series. Especially with the whole "No, the answer was no. What was the question?" bit.

I've been watching it like a long movie, so i don't mind filler episodes.

Seems like a nice arc to end season 2.

I think the way Derek got offed was a surprise, but it kinda links nicely to "How long do you think you'd survive against her?" John asked earlier. Though i would've preferred a "hand to hand" ending to that.

Funny thing is, knowing what we know about the terminator world and the upcoming movie, they can't bloody well win :D

I saw an ad on Virgin one that implied that John Connor plows that fembot of his. Was that just the ad or did he actually tap that metal ass? Because that would be realllllly naff.

Can't remember the episode (between 14-18) but at one point she gets on the bed with John and offers herself as an alternative to the fat blonde bint. She says something like, "I understand you have needs John Conner. You know I am fully functional in that area"

Can't believe he didn't tap it there and then tbh :)

Didn't they have to trim the cast to bring down the costs to get a new series?

Just finished watching series one and two in a blitz :p

Not sure how I feel about it all tbh, I enjoyed most of it, a couple of silly episodes in the middle and towards the end of season two but I would like to see more, I feel the writers/director need to take a good look at themselves, the amount of jumping around and double crossing was becoming a pain in the arse to keep up with (mostly because it was so obvious)

Anyway I would like to see Scifi get hold of the rights for the third season they know what it takes to turn a show like this around and finish off the story.

They have not (yet) confirmed that terminator is axed though. They simply have not confirmed it is continuing. There is hope!

I think it will depend on the success of Salvation this summer, and then sci-fi may pick it up.

It was a good idea but I think they definitely could have done better.

It was a really badly written show, and frankly very little of the last series made any sense. I'm not suprised they canned it.

It started well enough, but the story broke down. It was never going to last another season. As much as I like Terminator, its got to have a lot of money thrown at it and not be based on 1 particular character. They should have put it some time into Judgement Day or far enough into the future to create new characters and have John and Sarah Connor as 1 off specials. As someone else said, perhaps the success of the movie will inspire someone else to pick this franchise up and run with it (JJ/Lost creator? :p )

I'd have to strongly disagree with that. There were badly written one -off episodes, but the story arc as a whole was very well written. As for not making sense, what did not make sense to you?

The downfall of this season was the length, had they gone for a 12 episode season they could have done the same story arc, without the filler episodes and the ratings would have stayed higher.

gutted :(

I hope Salvation will temp Scifi into taking a chance on it.

As for not making sense, what did not make sense to you?

I admit I missed a couple of episodes, but the whole of the second series felt like the writters were struggling for plot. They seemed to have one poor overall idea for the series and no idea how to make it happen. For any show, the second series is the make it or break it series and they blew it.

Wierd scottish woman/terminator, fbi guy with no real story line apart from looking confused, Terminator plugged into a PC, kill a main character and bring him back one or two episodes later. It all seemed to be just desperation to fill airtime by the writers because they couldn't think of anything else.

I agree, the first series was good, it felt like an exploration of what makes a machine a machine with some brilliant scenes with John and Cameron. The episode where they plug her into the net was especially good. The second series tried to carry on with this theme but failed miserably, it was pretty crap throughout really, I only watched it in the hope that it would get better.

Its a shame it got canned as it seemed to be attempting to get to the point, all it really needed was some better writing, I though the cast was good and for what it was it was well acted.

Point for point:
  • Future terminator - backstory not explained as no doubt a future arc
  • dollhouse reference??? - seriously though, Ellison can be explained in future arc or with a simple "needed someone not scared of the machines to teach one"
  • Part of the story arc. Also imho one of the best points of the series as inevitably with a terminator weekly the "why do the terminators never kill anyone" question was becoming ridiculous
I think that you're being quite unforgiving. Series 2 was clearly taking Series 1 (a bunch of individual tales with no direction) and attempting to give it a threaded plot which would have continued with some seriousness at the start of Series 3.

The reality imho is that the worst part of the series was the "3 lights in the sky" actually being 3 blue lights on the front of the turk.

It was a bad idea to begin with, glad it's over tbh. Terminator 3 did enough to sully the good name, this was just horrible.
