As of January 2000 cable modems will be available to telewest customers.

A price hasn't beeen agreed formally, although we will obviously keep in with the competition and offer the service at a similar, if not better price.

Having had a chat with the sales people at telewest when we got cable installed recently, what they had to say was that the sales info for Cable modems has just started to come down to the telesales level, although with no pricing info as yet. But the friendly local sales rep who tried to sell us cable for the 2nd time (No, we don't want cable, FFS they're coming to install it tomorrow

) you will be required to convert to the digital service when that becomes available in Q4 99. The set top box will include the cable modem (allegedly) but the internet service won't be available til Jan 2000, and a tentative price that's being bandied about is £20 - £30 /month
