I've noticed that Roo hasn't updated TEH friday news for a long time, so i guess it's time for me to take a little detour from my usual ramblings and give out the official report on things to come. Here goes.
TEH FRIDAY NEWS
Version 1.68
We have nothing for you. We didn't have last week so why do you think we would have this week? We're aiming to get this version up and running by the end of April, but then again we were aiming to get a new coffee machine too....which never came...
Upgrade on the DAoC servers.
The Logres and Stonehenge machines were upgraded during the week and the results show a clear improvement both for server lag and stability. Ofcourse by a "clear improvement" in lag we mean that it went up to 20 Frames per second and by "clear improvement" in stability we mean that you might be able to play for 2 straight hours now.
A small guild problem.
If you play on Brocéliande, Ys or Stonehenge, you may have noticed a bug these last few days that prevents new guilds from being created. Tough cookie. Learn english and go play on Excalibur. No wait, just go and play on excalibur.
Consignment Merchant and referencing.
This concerns all players who own a consignment merchant ...umm...on second thought, why bother...might as well talk to players who own a thane...
Hurling !
No, this is no april fools joke! The first ever hurling tournaments were held on the french servers last night. Hurling, like its name does suggest, is a noble sport opposing two teams of Hurlers on a carefully delimited ground. The aim of the game is to delicately hurl the kobold (usually with the help of a bat of some sort) into the scoring zone of the opposing team. This is usually where the kobold hurls because of the sudden flight through air. Ofcourse the origins of this sport are a mystery all the realms tend to use different races for hurling.
Ofcourse this is only a little decoy to keep you people from spamming us about the REAL issues that will no doubt take this game into it's untimely grave...or a normal grave...dead in any case.
Optimising the performance of DAoC in Windows XP.
DAoC will no longer work on Windows XP. Thank you.
