If chavs'd finish their course of antibiotics properly rather than stopping when they "feel better" (i.e. when their disease-ridden overly-easily-available genitals stop itching) then antibiotics would last a lot longer :(

I wouldn't blame chavs that much, chances are that your parents were disease ridden hippie loveswingers too :p

The general failure of antibiotics is probably inevitable - will be interesting to have huge wards of TB patients coughing themselves to a phlegmy death again but on the plus side it will solve the pensions problem.

You've watched far too much "outer limits", it's the obvious next step to keep us healthy.

The best way to stay healthy is not to get ill in the first place.

I've been giving serious thought to annual checkups now, the sort of thing where they test your blood for cancer, shove a finger up your arse, test blood sugar, all that stuff.

Once upon a time, the Eastern Bloc looked seriously into bacteriophages (viruses that attack bacteria) as an alternative to antibiotics. It may well be a potential option for the future.

It's called natural selection. Every time I read about something that will kill stupid people, I imagine Charles Darwin clapping his hands in delight.
