TechNation Needs YOU!

Right...

we've gotten back off our arses now and are about to make a push to re-launch technation... loads of cool stuff in the pipeline, a pile of articles ready to go... but always it breaks down to one thing... manpower

Now, Gypsy and I can write quite a lot in a month, but we're lookin to spread the load (and the goodies) so I'm wondering if anyone is interested in writing for us.

we don't pay as such - but anything we let you review can be kept (if we're allowed to keep it) providing you meet deadlines and your reviews are up to scratch...

so who's up for it?

Post here and/or email me - xavier@barrysworld.com

(Not as in, "Reviewing Internet Articles")

hmm, doesn't sound like someone wanting to review as a matter of personal interest, more a terminal case of blaggus maximi ;)

"provided you meet deadlines" - I'd be interested but having a rather hetic home life I'd be worried if these are too short, can you give some idea of how long you get to write something ?

I'm up for doing some reviews.

I've been using PCs and fiddling with insides for as long as I can remember, also I can be articulate when need be :)

dimebag@barrysworld.com is my mail, if you want me to review things just give me a shout and I'll reply.

I'm at university in the 3rd year but keeping to deadlines shouldnt be a problem as I'm only in 2 days out of 7 in a week, so ive got er... rather a lot of spare time right now... anyway, hope you'll consider me!

All the best,

Dime

May as well put my interest in helping out here to. Examples of my writing can be found all over the BarrysWorld News page .... um actually, probably best to not look there ;)

Anyway, be glad to help out if it meant some free gear from time to time.

I'm a computer engineer at work, so I know my way around a PC.

As everyone is putting up "qualifications" I might as well add I've been building home PC's since the days of the 80386 CPU and I have a junkyard of stuff in my PC room amongst the five working PCs I use normally, I'm sure I can come up with a suitable isolated testing platform :)

deadlines are to suit the individual or sometimes the kit... nda releases for example...

they're there to ensure we get a decent standard of writing, and that it arrives on time... freebies can only be kept providing the author meets both criteria ;)

I'll stick my hand up into the firing line and help out with reviews, id be honest and say im not interested in keeping the kit sent, but for a technation e-mail address, being Xaviar's whipping boy, and being able to prove that what the manufacturer says and what it does is the same (and not exagerated crap like most stuff) :D

I got a couple of test-bed machines I can format and rebuild for testing cards and whatnot, not a lot of fuss thanks to Ghost :) also have a solid understanding of computers and love pushing machines to their limits :)

"fully trained" technical support analyst and have been knocking together machines like nobodys business (wheres that dawm SlotA processor i ordered from ebay  )

Socket A XP1600+ with MSI K7t266 Pro2 RU board
Pentium III 933 Aopen machine :eek6:
Slot A Athlon 650 with the Asus K7v (awaiting replacement 650 CPU after last one died due to "excessive operating levels" )
Slot A Athlon 550 with an old MSi 6167 for compatibility testing

PM me if im not a waste of time :D

I'll paste below the review I already did of it.

This processor is made by AMD. Hence, it's shit.

Can I have a job pls Xav?

Ooh sounds good, always wanted to review things. But could never be arsed to set up a site and try to get new stuff to do so... :p

I reckon I could give a unique take on products, and I'm not biased!

Plus I think Bodhi sucks, so that should automatically get me to the top of the waiting list without hesitation :)
