or a geek, either will do ;p

well recently i have beeen trying to play toa, but with to many ld's, so i put it down to the poor spec of my pc! But Toa runs well to a point, then i just i just go ld... when i looked at my connection status after an ld, it appaers that my connection to my isp doesnt exist as i am no longer receiving any bytes, completely frozen up, even tho i am still apperantly on line.<56k dial up>
Has this happened to anyone else? or has any one got a solution?

p.s have idle time off ;P

After quiting Daoc 6 months ago, i decided to play again when ToA arrived .
installed, registered, logged on, LD, logged on, LD...... :puke:

But Sunday it was terrible, i thought maybe it was the immense population on the server at that time, so i started on Prydwen ( 1000 peoples less on that server at that time)
guess what ..... same situation

i have Cable so dont worry about your 56k :eek6:

Mythic/goa/wanadoo/whatever should take a look at other mmorpgs ( played FFXI <<<most steady connection i ever had in a game)

give Wow :worthy:

- What is your computer spec?
- What is your OS?
- Any recent changes to your config?
- Have you had the same problem with classic/si daoc?

Give more info please ;)

i run anticrash, hare and zoom and it makes thing run nicely. the programs also sort out your registry and the drivers (so they run on a need only basis so you have more system resources).

there are plenty of places to find "copies of the full version" on the net as the trial only runs for 20 trys.

(btw don't bother with battery doubler (unless you have a laptop) and juggle mouse)

also a lil tip don't have anticrash enabled when running DAoC it keeps trying to fix it and fails. there is an option to disable it

well still cant fix the problem;<

spec:
3000xp
agp8 board
geforce4 5200
512 ram
getting raid controlled hard drives next week sometime.
and im using Windows ME <dont laugh, its good for running games due to its low resorces, and with new update patches sems to be fine>

Never had problems with SI or Classic, and if I did have problems they where due to my prevoius pc spec:

1.3 amd
agp4 board
geforce2
256 ram
<bearing in mind im usin a dial up>

sux using adsl for 2 years then having move to a new area, that cant receive adsl.

Ive been readin a few problems on faq, vnboards and here. Simular problems with ld's after porting with the djinns, being caused by network cards, "netgear", I dont have a netgear card.

I've tried turning down the speed of my connection, with no effect, and turned my buffering up and down, with no effect. well....pretty much tampered with everything I can find! maybe there is something I have over looked...<paranoia>

Ive tried asking the customer surport, but cant find a link for asking questions, only the "rightnow" for subscription problems, and have had no responce from them, even when asking for a techincal surport link.

Anyways...if you have any suggestions they would be gladly received;> :worthy:

anticrash is a program that sorts out the errors in your system you need to run autorepair in it. do not have this enabled when running DAoC as it tries to fix it and can't (that should be GOA and Mythics job :D)

Hare will optimize your systems performance under main enable it always and have cpu tasking running as well. under more options make sure you have 88 bit kernel active and all advanced functions running. under multimedia have all 3 options selected. you have an option to confgure as well in general use full quality. under advanced you have direct x ensure both are selected under open gl leave unselected.
under wizards run winoptimize it sorts your registry into an easier load up. mem doubler i don't use as i have FreeRAM xp pro (got from www.download.com )

Zoom enable zoom and fly this will load drivers as required. what this program does is speed up your start up and shut down as well just play with this one so your pc runs best.

as regards serials 2000 check your private messages ;)
