For a while now ive been having a debate with a freind on here about the art that is tea making!
He insists that you should put your milk in the cup first then water, sugar after...
I always leave the milk till last.

Apparently it is better to heat the mug first with a bit of hot water, empty it, pour in some milk, add tea bag, add boiling water, leave to simmer for 2 minutes (no more, no less) and then stir 5 times.

Tea bag in the mug, Hot water in first, then add milk to desired strength, 3 stirs clockwise, 5 counter clockwise then the customary 3 taps with the spoon on the edge of mug.

ooh little bit of info on coffee whilst we're talking hot beverages, if your making instant always leave the kettle for a few mins after its boiled as if you pour boiling water on it it burns the coffee and gives it a bitter taste.

this information was brought to you by the letter Z and the number 6!

Milk in tea is just vile...

Let it cool down if it's too hot, all the other crap kills the flava flav.

you need the water to be 100 C at the moment it hits the tea bag, as someone said above, heat the mug a little first, add the milk only when it has brewed enough.

The best cup of tea you'll ever make is using a tea pot, a tea strainer and tea leaves :)

[1] Boil the water - the hotter the water, the better the tea will be!!!
[2] Put tea leaves & the freshly boiled water into the teapot and left to brew for a minute.
[3] Open tea pot, stir, leave to sit for another minute
[4] Put milk in the cup/mug of your choice
[5] Pour tea solution through appropriate strainer into cup
[6] Add sugar if required (and stir)...
[7] Drink

Tea leaves taste sooo much better than tea bags imo

I will generally use a teapot and let it brew nicely for a while. have milk in cup and then add tea.

If I have to make the tea in a cup then I will stir the bag in the cup for a while and let it sit, then once it looks strong enough I will remove teabag and add milk.

i find if the milk goes on the teabag before the water it seals the tea in the tea bag and it takes an age to brew, so milk last unless u like to wait for evah!!

you can't just ask that question like that - we need more details.

Is it made in a pot or single cup bag?

If it's from a pot of real leaf tea, then the milk and sugar go in first. If you're making it in a cup with a bag then last.

I vaguely remember being told that pouring boiling water into milk scalds the milk or something, but if poured from a pot onto milk, it's cooled enough in the pot to not scald it... or something... stuff

i dunno - im very vague on things that happened more than about an hour ago... :m00:
