Tank Thieving

I was playing on the BY server last night, and on Market Garden as Allies, I kept getting in a jeep and going over the Axis side to pinch their Tigers. This guy (Rockeye) went ape after I'd done it a few times saying I was cheating. Now I honestly couldn't give a flying squirrel about wot he thought, but do you lot consider tank thievery like this cheating ?

(I wasn't basecamping - straight in/out with loot).

Yup, definatly not stealing, in any way shape or form, the enemy are just muppets for leaving their tanks unattended.

I think I was on the same server, and was getting bored as axis, so filled my kubelwagen with det packs and went looking for plane campers to blow up with a suicide car bomb.

My record so far is 4 enemy in one explosion, but only 2 in one go that I managed to escape the scene from.

Dunno, if you put a mine on one and drive you blow up though.

I was hoping to put mines on a jeep, and fill it with exp packs then kill guys with a explosive laden car bomb, and scatter mines in the ensuing carnage.

On a related note, I was playing a game the other night and I had the sub and was getting quite wicked with it recapping a sea flag they kept getting using planes, but it got a bit battered after one encounter with a ship so I retired towards the edge of the map for repairs (I was an Engineer).

Got out of the sub and started fixing when I heard a plane but realised from the mini-map it was one of my own side, so I continue fixing, then I heard the "shudder" sound you get when you bail out and free fall a long distance, then before I know it the bastage pilot has jumped into my sub and starts heading off !

That's what happens to engineers. I stopped to get rid of mines and repair the tank. Someone jumped in and drove straight over the mines before I could move them. Fate works in strange ways

The most satisfying thing to do is take a plane out with the main tank gun - it rocks. (edit: in Battlefield 1942)

I can normally do it once a month, once i did 2 in one game, so it aint hard.

The easiest method is when they flight straight at you. But you gotta fire with loads of lead.

I've also shot down planes flying past, but that was pure luck.

I haven't managed it in DC yet, which is surprising considering the flatter trajectory of the guns.

One last thing, try taking one down with an anti-tank missle, thats cool too, but a lot harder! (you more likely to die first, via the attacking planes bullets).

that sucks .. you hadnt mentioned if he dived or not .. nice swim?

I always [when laying mines] tell the team where they are and the grid reference .. but do they listen .. NO. I then proceed to get larted for TK and promptly booted from the server!

It really makes me wonder why bother having team-work at all on the public servers and rock-n-roll with Free-For-All.

For Clans its good as its all for one and one for all but public servers .. forget it! I try my best but what can you do!

I had that problem on market garden the other night, playing as allies.. admittedly, friendly fire wasn't on so i didn't receive any TK's for it.. but everytime i laid mines on the bridge, some retard would come scooting along in a jeep and clear the lot just to meet a tank coming the other way
