Give your thoughts on the respective groups and their ability to win.

RR 1 - 4

RR 5 - 7

RR 8 +

I personally think the higher the realm rank the more difficult it is for a caster group to beat a tank heavy group. Especially without a Debuffing MA.

Its seems very very difficult to tie down a tank group long enough, before the tanks are in among the casters/support.

this patch
good bodyguarder will be able to protect the casters, alb debuff grps on excal and Celerity back in the day proove that. Unfortunately good bodyguarders are in short supply nowdays with most the best leaving/left.

Next patch with 55% mez reduction will be tanks again.

Hmm

If we are talking ML10 ToAed ppl etc.
For Albion-

RR1 to 4- Tank group (With Mez BT CB's) or Casters (without CB)
RR4 to 6- Grapple Mix group
RR7 to 10- Grapple Mix group

Talking a group with 2+ Grapplers and 2+ Casters

ie-
Paladin
Friar
Merc
Cabbie
Theurgist
Sorcerer
Cleric
Cleric

set up i would run, no matter what the realm rank :

Cleric - rejuv
Cleric - enh
Sorc - 40/36 ( maybe full mind in 1.76)
Merc - ml8
Merc -ml8
Pally -bg
Friar -bg
Theurg or possibly Matter Cabbie
Mini, Reaver or 3rd Merc.

3 healers, 2 x bg & grapple, 4 x ressers 2 x nuking, all resists This imo will be the best set up, especially in 1.76.

Saying that, we ran a rr8 grp the other night, and ran into dopi , xxcaliber, world & co. We had no bg or grapple, but did have a rr8 mini and theurg. Straight fight, no adds and we won with only 1 death, so anything can happen i guess

Ae disease & top Ae dot, ml9 uncc'able pet - yer totally usless ! think st/twf/ml8 bomb m8s - drop matter cabbie shit on top of that and u have a winner.

my point being anyway - if you cannot find a theurg, a matter cabbie will suffice.

I hope to run this zerg waster/enclosed spaces grp :

ml8 rr6+ reaver x 3
st3 bg friar
cleric
cleric
sorc
matter cabbie

not so hot in the open field, but good elsewhere :)

expect the old elitestoner/lcea/jordie crew inc soon after clustering, and stalky if steveh will give him some time off !

Agree. Full matter caba would be too situational.

when i make random groups i like this setup really

3 Healer
1 Shaman
1 Warrior (BG)
1 Bonedancer
1 Zerk (MA)
1 Sava/Zerk/Skald

seems to do quite well, with todays heavy tank groups its hard to have more than 1 caster as you go down very fast if MAed and would be hard work for the BGer to BG 2 casters and also help out other members of the group MAed, if you have 2 good healers maybe drop a healer for a dark SM/RM

We all Purged, MoC, Assisted Malev :)

I played in that group many times myself, and now in NF with BL, Charge etc etc etc there's no chance in hell that that group would win any fight :p
Dont even think with moc etc up :x
Moc, get demo'd/zou'd and with no bg the tanks will rip the casters to bits in seconds :p

What about: sorc, tri caba, air theu, paladin, friar, cleric, cleric, merc? Yeah I know most grp would swap 1 bger to a merc.

Personally id swap the cabba for a merc and leave the rest as it is. Given tank abilities these days, having more casters than you do bg isn't as great as it used to be :<

Well, with 2 bof, soi on sorc maybe its not that bad. 2 bger can grapple as well so can take out the enemy tanks. Against the usual 2 BGer hib setup you prolly need ranged dmg and ns on mids grps with mostly 1 perfector seems to be nice. Never tried this setup tho :D
