Anyone remember the board game Talisman?

I use to play this 20 odd years ago and if I remember it was pretty good

what do you think and what board games are good nowadays?

I am deeply in love with my star trek TNG chess set, never really played any other board games aside from the normal ones (scrabble, clue, trivial persuit etc) and certainly never any mystical RP ones as the people who raised me had the imaginative capabilities of foot lice so am deeply envious of those who did get to play them

Played Talisman two months ago, funny you should mention it

It's good, it has flaws(like length, guidebook and the almost impossible ending), but it's good.

Good board games are out there these days too, i especially liked Zombies!!!!, a post apocalyptic...well think the name says it!

Its got picard = king, Dr Crusher = Queen, Worf = castle, data = bishop, riker = knight and the pawns are little enterprises (either D or B depending on what side you're on). It's a really cool set but the chars are a bit freaky looking lol, Riker looks like david guest hehe (it adds to the charm imo!)

Will set it all out and take a picture for you at some point...if I'd brought the Troy cheerleader outfit at the convention in June I could of done a playnerd™ pose for you but I didn't...all I got is my com badge and I'm not post a pic just wearing that!!

The original Talisman editions go for 100€ and more on Ebay. Not too much, considering the fact that I payed about 180€ for one RPG module for my I.C.E. collection.

Secret about wishes coming true is not to abuse them! If i wish for a dragon, it'd just eat me, wish for x ray vision i'd probably get a heart attack first time i go outside and see a crusty old lady on her roller thing, and icecream.. hmm, well.. hmm... ok i'll think about it!

A quality game, still have mine with all the expansions. I do feel it did start to lose the plot a bit with the release of Timescape and the city was pretty pointless too.

I did recently have a look on eBay for the old Rolemaster modules for Middle Earth. I don't play anymore, but thought it might be interesting to read thru a couple for old times sake. Bit of a luxury tbh at the price or some of them...

I will get thru life without knowing the stats for Itangast or the layout of Dol Guldor!

haha, I remember that cover! No idea why, as I don't remember anything else about it.

Risk sucks. I don't think I've ever won a game, and I always end up getting hugely frustrated. I could easily be one of Saradens friends. It really drags out when you're about to lose

Carcassonne is great.
