Well the Patch is out and if you dont know already its a pile of p00 its just doesnt work on the servers so most peeps have gone back to the older 24 patch

U can download the full 90mb 25034 patch directly from tribalwar.com or planettribes.com. There are lots of mirrors about so look around. I dont think that the auto updater will detect this version yet.

But it seems that most of the euro servers still have problems and will not be updating, so patching is up to you

lol thanks but i didnt update /want to update/plan on updating till most servers use the new patch.
as soon as i run the game i get that message
ive got the update already but wasnt planing on runing it

and the auto-updater is kicking in now.

doh, just bypass the autoupdate
make a shortcut to tribes2.exe and add -online or -nologin
this will stop that annoying update thing

Its only by and bw that are having problems tbh. All the servers i play on have updated, gamesurf have also updated. BY and BW won't update because of the dual processor problem thats still around for them. Other server providers have worked round this problem to get the servers up, but BW and BY refuse to. So even thought you pay for bw service don't expect em to alter there servers just for you guys.

I personally have not had that many problems running this new patch... i have nice smooth fps and my ping is pretty stable. 300 to 350 on most the pacific and easten servers

Does the stuttering only effect the server wen multiple servers are running on the same machine? cant barrys just run 1 server?
i cant find any information about the problem other than wot flossy has posted on BY and gameshrine

What the problem is is the patch sorted the Dual AMD proc problem but NOT the Dual Intel Problem and guess what BW BY etc have got, untill sierra sort it out most servers will be back to the 24 patch i would assume

i was under the impression that the new, new patch was manditory, so most of our tribe updated only to find that we would have to forfit a match as the opposing team wanted to play on the old 24xxx patch... we did managed to arrange a rematch as the other team was more interseted in a game than just getting a win !

Has anyone found any offical words from sierra about this?

So I guess that means that everyone has to update.

If your talking about a match on theladder.org, if you look at the news page you'll see the new new patch is official on theladder and that a team can now not force you to play the old patch.

it was twl, and the main news page is a little confusing.
they say that the new patch will not be used till december 4th (or something) so any matches must be played on previous patch.
But as no version numbers have been included i was under the impression that 25024 was the previous version not 24xxx. all our other matches where played using the 25024 patch and we all just assumed that this is what we should all use...

Anyway, at least the other tribe didnt just take the oppertunity to get a cheap win, they know they would win regardless of the version we played

I think as per BW servers, they should just try putting up 1 server with a 64 player limit [AGAIN]. They are so much fun.

yeh... i have had a few games of BF42 on Barrys but its pretty poor on 56K (not BW fault), and thats about it for my £12.
I had lots of people from my tribe interseted in joining up but lack of interest and players, plus the fact thats its a pain in the ass to get signed up if u live outside the UK sorta put them off.

I would have thought that BW and Game would have had a massive TV/ in store adverts going by now, but i have seen nothing. Some people in the Game store dont even know wot barrysworld is... how hte fuck are you supposed to get players and signups if no bodys knows about it????

I also paid for P2P but aint got any use out of it yet. We should either get togeather and all send a request e-mail or try and get them to setup a test server.

Spose it is all going slow because barrysworld is changing to Game.Net.

Well its either that or they couldnt give a fuck about tribes.
They still manage to keep other games going,patched and updated.
Mind u there all going pay to play league wise, so there gonna make there money from that. with tribes i cant see that happening as there is no barrys tribes league.
As they aint gonna make any extra from upgrading there servers, it kinda begs the question are they gonna bother.
Plus, i could be wrong but if some servers aint busy they use them for other games dont they?(or is that just jolt?).
Sad i know but this could be barrys attempt at concentrating there servers for more lucrative games.
I hope im wrong.

mzungo and I have tried in the past to get all teh T2 subscribers on BW CTF 1, it lasted about 2 mins before Santro dragged us all kicking and screaming to the eclipse server =)

I feel that with the complete lack of decent euro servers running the new patches, if barrys could manage to run one or two servers, it would not be long till it filled up.

But it has been said before that most T2 players only signed up to get access to the bookable's, and most others didnt see the point if there are plently of free servers about...

unless barrys can offer somthing that all the others cant
(like running 1 server) then we can all say byebye to barrys T2

Theres not a complete lack of decent Euro servers, theres a complete lack(i.e none) of UK servers. There is a difference

And as for getting anything out of BW, its fighting a losing battle. With the pay to play you'll see there effort going into a smaller range of games with larger community numbers.

I just went into #bwadmins irc channel and asked Nat, he said he is looking into the server updates on Thursday and hopefully have an outcome on Friday.

He was very helpful and didn't say that it didn't work but it does need more investigation.
