Switches/Hubs ne brads to look out for ?

Are Netgear any good because i've seen a 24 port 10/100 switch for just £50 ?

I've been using Netgear for yonks, no problem, I have a 5-port 100/10 Switch and a 4-port 100 Hub.

I do have a problem getting the Switch to recognise one PC, mainly because the cable snakes through a bit of interference.

I had a netgear switch for yonks. Never had any kind of problem. I swapped it for a 3com autosense 10/100 hub because the switch had active cooling and was a bit loud to be sitting on my desk.

Thanks for the replys guys, I think i'll get that 24 port switch now, is there any good documentation on the net about networking etc ?


Also are these netgear switches any good for small lan events ?
