Sunset in Scotland (part 2)

I grabbed a quick snap with the Pentax *ist DS digital SLR of the setting sun as it lit the clouds from below. The effect of the sun was incredible, it looked like bubbling lava extending from the sky, like the end of the world.

The only photoshopping done here is a size reduction, the colours are "as is" (i should get rid of the street light, but i want to keep the image real).

I made this (be warned, it's huge and uncropped as yet) in NZ, the colours are magic but your clouds are waaay cooler imo!

The clouds furthest away from the horizon are cumulonimbus.

Absolutely stunning photograph if a little out of focus. Surprised there wasn't a storm soon after.

Yeah the exposure was slightly longer than i was hoping for, so i had to brace myself for a handheld shot - it's a touch blurred as opposed to out of focus, as a result.
