OK, having just spent £XXX on upgrades, and feeling no n00b at this, anyone got any decent suggestions for this prob:

Kit =
Asus A7N8X-X mobo
AMD 2800+ Proc
1Gb Crucial PC3200 mem
AOpen GF5600 256Mb GFX card
Seagate Baraccuda 120GB HD
450w powa supply

System remains cool constantly (mobo 39deg, proc 43deg)
Latest VIA flash (1005)
All mobo and GFX drivers up to date (best stable AOpen drivers, not the NVidia ones which made me crash every 30 secs)
90GB free still on the HD
Windows XP Pro +SP1

Background tasks -
Mcafee Anti-V (latest patches), Zone Alarm 4 Pro, DiskKeeper 6, WindowBlindz
No Spy ware (Ad-Aware run daily)
Checked for all current virii liek msblast and nachi etc

During play no other stuff running, so heres the prob:

Start copy 1 of DAoC - 800 x 600 no water effects, mid rage on all settings. All runs fine (runs kewl at 1024x768 too when im playing solo with all effects btw),. Into game all is good. Set memory allocation for "game.dll" to "Below normal" in the task manager.
Start Copy 2 of DAoC - 800 x 600, no effects at all, low clip and LOD range, all graphics at minimum, no sounds or player / ncp / grave names.

At this point, the loading screen comes up, the bar moves left to rightand........reboot. Every time without warning at all.

Suggestions on a pstcard pls :)

Bad memory maybe? Is the one gb made up of two 512s? If so try them seperately.

Right click my computer
Advanced
Startup and recovery - settings
Untick Automatically Restart

Now you should blue screen instead of restarting
This will atleast help you diagnose the problem. Might even list the offending driver/hardware :O

If its not broke dont fix it imo.
Changing settings now with aggrevate the problem :O
You may fix the problem but cause instability with the tweaking
Just some advice ofcourse.

P.s what fsb is your CPU.
you know your mobo only supports DDR400 on a <333mhz cpu?
High performance memory settings may cause problems :l
