What a silly decision from the FA, especially when they opened with - we don't think Suarez is a racist, and then closed with Evra admitting he was racist toward Suarez.....

LFC statement said:
It is key to note that Patrice Evra himself in his written statement in this case said 'I don't think that Luis Suarez is racist'. The FA in their opening remarks accepted that Luis Suarez was not racist...

...Luis himself is of a mixed race family background as his grandfather was black.

So, is Terry going to get a ten match ban or something?

I guess telling all of England to fuck off through a TV camera simply isn't comparable to a non-racist statement said between two players...

It will be interesting to see how hard you look for conspiracies when Terry's ban is announced. ;)

Ofc if he doesn't get punished then it's definitely a conspiracy.

I think the important question that this thread raises is this: Why is Ch3tan so angry? :(

Other than that, I think the Argentina thing is an interesting one.

Hard to know the truth of anything reported like this these days after the ridiculous reaction to Clarkson's joke about the public sector strikes.

On the other hand, they can't tolerate racism and fair enough they should come down hard - football players should know by now to use random expletives and not racial slur..particularly considering the money they get paid - surely it can't be that hard to not be a cunt? ;)

I wonder if we will get a rash of accusations now people can see it carries a long and potentially (for liverpool) disastrous ban - is it me or does this punish the club rather than the player?

Edit - What they really need is the power to force the player to do youth work for weeks during his summer break - thats a real punishment that hurts the player not his club.

Liverpool Echo's James Pearce. "Not one of Evra's team-mates came forward to back up his serious allegations, including goalkeeper David De Gea, who speaks Spanish. Suárez, for his part, admitted to saying: 'Why, negro?' to Evra on one occasion after Evra said: 'Don't touch me, you South American.' The word 'negro' is Spanish for black and in his native South America it is not deemed to be offensive. Someone with black hair is often called that without any malice intended … strangely, those linguistic and cultural differences appear to have carried little weight with the commission."

Interesting how Suarez gets an 8 game ban for saying naughty things, whereas thugs who threaten whole careers with horrific leg snapping challenges only get a 3 game ban.

Bit off that.

Brilliant that BBC thought this important to that story:
The defender has won the Premier League three times with Chelsea, but missed a penalty in a shoot-out against Manchester United which would have won them the 2008 Champions League.

But yeah, fair point they should amend things to fuck the player not the club, and I see Zede 's point.. that is Shit and akin to calls for Clarkson'a firing over the public sector quote.

If negro is all he said then I wouldn't class it as racist in Spanish. Hahahaha. Some loss of context there which is the same as the Reyes - Henry incident a few years ago.

Well, if there's evidence against Terry which is weighty enough for criminal culpability then is the FA going to get involved? Or are they already?

They cant have their own investigation until the criminal investigation has run its course for fear of prejudicing the trial.

Edit- They could suspend him but I dont think footballers generally are suspended for a criminal investigation - he should be suspended from the england captain role tho.
