Stupid player in DaoC needs advice

Question for you -

Am a lvl 14 Hero in DaoC, and am trying to complete the Fagan's Wand task

I get to the enchanted spraggon and knack him, but he drops nothing that I can pick up. I have been back 3 times now and each time the same.

Any advice you can offer??

You don't normally have to pick up 'quest' items, they usually are automatically placed in your backpack. Check that first, if no joy and you are definitely doing it right you might need to mail GOA.
