Strange

Just asking so please dont flame...

Isn't it strange....
Assasin and Bowman both have some big-damage starting attack style (PA and Crit Shot). Isn't it strange that BladeTurn doesnt effect PA (it always goes straigth through the BT) and the Crit Shot is always blocked by BT......

Shouldn't there be a chance that an arrow pierces BT and shouldn't there be a chance that BT blocks a PA?

Maybe these chances do exist?
Anyone?

well considering the assasin has to get right up face to face with target, this should give them some sort of advantage over an archer who is miles away ( and prob does double the damage with crit shot compared to assasin PA )

I think the idea is that assassins are so close they're inside the bubble of protection as oppossed to the long range attack of archers. I've no problem with this but I'd like there to be just a change of negating BT, even if it's slow 20% or something.

It's probably a larger problem for rangers/scouts, especially scouts since they have longest drawtimes on average and there's far more PBT class players in hibbie.

They gave the bladeturn and nearsight to all casters because they didnt have any defence against archers who could freely attack casters from range and kill and get away with one shot.
Problem with that was that it affected assassins in the same way who realy take a risk when attacking anyone that close and a 100% missed critstrike would have made the assassin very useless.
So they made the critstrike ignoring the bubble and now the ability to onehit and stay hidden is removed so it involves some danger to hit.

That is not realy true, on scouts it is maybe but there is faster bows now for them aswell. But rangers have the same tools to get drawtime alot faster but they tend to gimp them self by taking bow to 50 and skip pathfinding (maybe).
I have 42 bow (will respec to 36) and 43 beastcraft as a kobold hunter and my drawtime with our slowest bow 5.0 is less than 2 sec and critshot around 2.5 sec. and I crit most mages for about 960 if they dont have bladeturn up. If bladeturn is pbt and on 3 sec I just pump arrows and get every 2 shot land. if it is a 6 sec bladeturn I just miss the first shot and hit 2 times between the pulse and the mage is dead 90% of the time if I get a critical on one of them, falcons eye :p or they are alert and run away in the right direction when the bubble breaks.

And there is nothing that say Scouts and Rangers have to use the 5.5 bow... There is faster alternatives even if they do less damage / hit. But I belive 1 hit out of 2 is better than 0 hit out of 2...
This goes for hunters aswell, if you cant get your drawtime less than 2 sec with your bow, change bow to a 3.9 or 4.1 sec bow and try again.
Use the heavy one to snipe other archers that are not grouped with pbt.

Or another solution is to instruct zerkers and skalds to go for pbt classes first instead of hunting that moose dude. As soon as the support (pbt) is down go for the tanks.

Max your quickness items , it realy helps, also aug quickness and moa is very useful for us.

Spix doesnt matter how fast your bow is, when you take into account misses, fumbles and PBT getting in the way (usually stacked on most serious hibbie RVR groups) scouts have it harder than rangers. Even in middies there's probably more supp runies than there are cabbies (PBT?) albion.

I can break past PBT fairly easily but I still dont like having no chance at all of getting past on my first shot even when bladeturn is up.

At least with resists and spellcrafting I wont be getting killed in 2 nukes anymore.. :D

reroll then

of course you've still got to wait on the person not moving/being in combat/not having PBT/procing armor (coming real soon on most caster robes no doubt) :p
