Ok so i'm really enjoying the game atm, but something is bugging me.
I can run the game at 1900 X 1200 with almost max settings (dx9) , some things like bloom and shadows turned down but it still looks nice. I usually get 25 fps in towns/cities/in combat, and then around 45-60 in fields/dungeons.
However - when i run around npc's don't appear until i am really close to them. Often when sprinting through a town i will run into an invisible npc, and only see them 1 second afterwards. Also, and i think the problem is related, some textures seem to take a while to load. I can be running past a wooden log for example and it will look terrible, but then a second later the detail picks up and it's stunning. I don't lose any fps when this happens. Hope you get what i mean.
I have all the viewing distances at pretty much max. That includes npc distance, particles etc.
I have a feeling it's the RAM that is causing it, but i can't be certain. The reason i say that is because i have had issues with it in the past, for example randomly going down to 1Gb and having take it out and put it in again to sort it. It's OcUK value RAM as well, was very cheap.
i am running on a E8400, ATI 3870X2, 2Gb of RAM and windows xp.
Any suggestions as to what is causing it would be greatly appreciated!
