didnt feel any difference when running 1 acc on the comp... when running 2 accs at the same time on same comp, this setting makes it unplayable... 1fps :O

Dis-able ToA precaching tbh the amount of lag I recieved recently has been down to the silly pre-caching feature... turned it off get a lot less lag.

Anyone tried some memory tweaks with the NT memory compability on/off?
Like Disabling Page Executive, System Cache Boost and I/O Performance?

Windows XP (only) and _256+_ MB required - the more memory the merrier:

1) Open Regedit
2) Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager\Memory Management\

3) Disable Paging Executive: Change the value in DisablePaginExecutive from 0 to 1.
Explanation: Windows XP pages data from RAM memory to the hard drive. We can stop this happening and keep more data in RAM, resulting in better performance.

4) System Cache Boost: Change the calue in LargeSystemCache from 0 to 1.
Eplanation: Changing the value of the key LargeSystemCache from 0 to 1 will tell XP to allocate all but 4MB of system memory to the file system cache, allowing the XP Kernel to run in memory. The 4MB of memory left is used for disk caching, if more is needed, XP allocates more. Generally, this tweak improves performance by a fair bit but can, in some intensive applications, degrade performance.

5) Input/Output Performance: This improves the performance of large file transfers. This value does normally not appear in the registry. You need to create a REG_DWORD value called IOPageLockLimit. If there is a value already in your registry (with no value set), the default value is set to 512 KB. to get the _BEST_ performance you have to experiment with different values. Most people using this tweak have found maximum perfomance boost between 8 to 16 MB range. The value is measured in _BYTES_, so try different settings like x MB*1024*1024. For example allocating 12 MB: 12*1024*1024 = 12582912.

I'm using it now and haven't noticed any problems with it, no gains either. I haven't attended any raids yet, just some casual RvR in 1 or 2 FG emain runs.
I also don't got any BB or a nice gfx card, so I'm fecked anyway ;). Will have to join some raids to check it out myself.

PS. I take no responsible or give support if you do try these settings and it fecks up your computer. If you don't know how to rollback the computer to pre-state this is not your ball park.

And lastly, tweaks may imporve perfomance in some applications but it may also decrease the performance in others...

BTW I'm running it on a 2.53 mhz P4, 512 MB RAM, GeForce 4 mx 420 (don't say it, I can hear you thinking it anyway), and SP1a installed.

Ive tried it before. It feels like it working can be imagination

but when get to character screen and press exit it only semi logs out. Game is like comp hanging itself. I can press stuff in windows but its like u been moved to a 1 mhz comp with 10 byte of ram.

/reset button :I

Trying that now.. and if it doesn't work I'm going to hack the VN boards and cause havok on that person who posted that.

/edit after Seems to have cut lag in Sauvage, even loading in. Usually it takes about 1 min to ajust to the poeple, but it loaded amost instantly :)
