So the guy/girl doesnt know how to get to odin's.The picture doesn't really tell the whole story.
What level is the guy/girl are they guilded, maybe they are new to the game. What would have been nice would have been to see a reply actually explaining how to get there. So much for the friendly realm of albion, how long does it take to say "just get a medalion to midgard and your there"?
Or fishi is level 50 in which case thats bloody funny :)

Apologies, should have included the whole picture. Fishi is yellow to 46 (IE: 40+), and has been in the game a reasonable length of time - was, in fact, in the Templars at the same time as me, however long ago that may have been.

First time I recall seeing Fishi was approximately 6 months ago.

And yes, we did explain how to get to Odin's :)

Not long ago we were on our way to take Beno, when we got to HW, one of the high level Albs in the group asked if we were in Emain!

I had a little laugh, of course, but then saw it as a problem of the high-level Albs, and not the individual ;)

Picture this ;

5 Albion keeps in the hands of Midgard, Albion keep retake teams start to claw them back. Someone on the retake /cg asks if their are any scouts near Hurbury to which (*******) level 50 cleric replies 'Is that the Scout Level 50 epic mob?'

I shit you not and he/she wasn't joking :)

i think everyone should be required to take a written test before being allowed to port to emain.

Q:
Name all the albion keeps

Q:
Describe the location of these, and how to get there

when hitting 40, this same test should be taken.

wrong answers? lose a level

Maybe PARP could organise some kind of relay race where you have to touch base at each of the Alb keeps, in any order you like ...

Nice idea, but the people that need to learn probably wouldn't take part. :(

Thats not stereotypical Albion, this is:

yyy: "Hey xxx please play powersong instead of speed"
xxx: "Play it yourself if you think you know everything so good"
xxx has left the group

yyy: "hi xxx can i join the group?"
xxx: "no we're doing fine"
xxx sends: "hi can I get a res?"
yyy sends: "ehmm no I'm doing fine"
xxx sends: "fucking twat"

alb zerg: "mids behind amg!"
yyy: "ok dont run now"
alb zerg: "INC"
yyy: "DONT RUN"
yyy was just killed by Maliciousentrailsmidtalf

this one is my personal favourite:
xxx: infiltrators suck we need a tank that can deal damage

HAHAHAHAHA

hmm, I levelled from my minstrel 1-50 in about 2 months real time (and I work), without being powerlevelled, just getting groups and xping solidly. There are some powerlevelled gimps, but a lot of it is just because people don't want to learn. They just want to go to emain and farm RPs. It's all about attitude, a level 50 could be powerlevelled and still be good if they put a bit of effort in once they get there to learn what they need.

I dont think its right to have a pop at people that dont know their way round the fronteer. I feel like a plonker when Im listening to /AS and people are saying Beno is under attack. Now, I've gleamed that Beno is short for Benoshomething-or-other but I have no idea where it is or how to get there. Further, I would still have no idea where it is even if I was level 50 and it was my first time into RvR (lets face it, theres no point going before that because youre not likely to get a group from what I hear)

At some point in their game, everyone is completely lost in the frontiers. But by lv45+ players should know their way around, because at those levels you're expected to be there for realm-defence/attacks.

The best way to get started, is download some maps. kirstena's Atlas has a nice set of frontier maps. Look for the ones labelled "Alb frontier", "Mid frontier" and "Hib frontier". They're in pdf format and print nicely onto A4 paper.

Print maps, and explore every frontier. Travel from keep to keep using the maps as a referrence, but your most important tool is the ingame compass(shift+c)... don't leave home without it :)

Pretty soon, you'll be running around without needing to look at maps.

lol, i played that char for a little while, its lvl43 (dont think the current owner could lvl it given that amount of intelligence about the game). Was 42 when i started to play it. I didnt take the char cos i just didnt get on with Alb at all... I thought mid/exc was bad for whiners and assholes but i am glad i have seen the brown trodden grass of alb/pryd now :) not so green on the other side so to speak.

So many accounts change hands these days its hard to tell who is who etc. That was NOT the original fishi nor myself thats for sure.

Anywayz, big up Utopia and to Myddrin (HIPPIE!!!) and mr Evene darko the craziest cleric in the world :p shining examples that you should all follow imo.

Spose we should bear in mind that it could just be someones character being played by their brother/sister/mom/dad, etc. So they may well not know how to get to certain places.

Not everyone goes that often to RvR when they're not 50 yet... I didn't go to emain with my scout until he was 48 and not till 50 with my infil...

But even some level 50s don't know what some stuff is like that 50 paladin who was looking for the mmg somewhere on a mountain in emain ;)

proberly not an uber group but level 37 cleric is viable in RvR

Especially since heals don't get resisted and buffs or always nice.

So unless you are specced full smite i should say give it a go. Get MCL (mana regen shout) and you exp a lot easier.
