Steiny not saved - but happy anyway

The IEA have decided for certain that they want to replace me with a contract IT agency, and that I'm to be out of a job. However, due to the immense amounts of help, advice, knowledge, editing, experience and care that the Barrysworld community have shown, I was able to put together a case which means that they have chosen to get rid of me on not at all unfavourable terms.

Basically, the management of my organisation have been severly embarrassed by the lack of their own foresight ( for example not checking what systems we had in place before asking agencies to bid ), to an extent that they have given me a relatively good golden handshake, especially for someone so young.

As the Boss said at the end of the meeting, as he pointed at the memo written by the collective barrysworld crew, "I guess we'll see in 6 months who was right"

I think we know :)

yours, off to pastures new,

Steiny

FSCKING WELL PLAYED TO YA

Even if this isn't exactly how you wanted it to turn out, and certainly not how in fairness it *should've* turned out, I think you've come out smelling of roses :)

Well done mate

Well played mate, just be sure to go back in 6 months to see how things are going. I'm sure THAT will please the bosses :)

Yeah, go back with a long memo detailing how Steiny Enterprises can pull their arse out of the six-month-old shit. For a hefty consultancy fee, obviously.

I've been lucky in that I've never had to hunt for a job. I don't envy you but gl and let us know how it goes. I'm sure all of us will be in the same position one day.

Welcome to the club m8 :)

My entire company went down at the end of May, and I've decided to take the summer off and enjoy myself with the redundancy money and go travelling.

Hmm, now what shall I do on a June Wednesday morning...? Play a bit of CS, a bit of T2, or put my feet up with a beer and watch a crap film on Sky Cinema? :D

That's not fair! I want my company to go out of business and for me to get a huge redundancy settlement!

Pah.

Well I had the best redundancy, in April 99, they made me redundant, giving me 6 months notice (they kept extending my contract after that ), paying me 50% a month bonus to stay that 6 months then sent me to rome within 3 months in August 99, and paid for my rent and car + petrol and 50 % a month bonus, two flights a month back to england + £10 a day expense that was till Jan 2001 then just the rent, car and flights oh yeah also paid my redundancy as well. I will truly be made redundant in two weeks time at which I will claim my 3rd redundancy from them. I will return to UK and look for job and I guess claim income suport till I find a job.
The most fantastic redundancy so far for me. It's not my fault my company is ran by morons. But who am I to complain.
    For my company. Bless em.
