steam and 1.6

Okay so I finally took the plundge and re-installed steam to try it and the beta cs.

Steam was god awful last time I tried it, times have thankfully changed. The buddy tracker is very useful, it all integrates with HL perfectly. The new console is a godsend, and 1.6 itself is a very very good new version of CS.

I was worried that the famas and galli would unbalance gameplay by being so cheap. But if anything they help balance the game by ensuring that even if your on the losing team you have more than a pistol and an mp5 to fight back with.

If you have't tried it yet go get it, if your not on broadband it may be a pain, but its worth it in the end.

WHat server do you play on m8? When I use 1.6 I am getting horrific pings of like 200 where as with 1.5 anything above 30 for me is bad! Is it due to it being a beta or are there some good servers that you know of?

Well if you filter the servers to only show the ones with good pings, and then join one with a ping thats good you will be okay.

Join only uk and euro servers and you should be ok.

Steam has definately improved over time.

The galil is a great assault weapon for camping etc. due to its heavy nature, low recoil, no so good for running across open areas.

Famas has low recoil and i like it :-]

Riot Shield is pretty good as well once you know how to use it :-]

Riot shield is still bugged i think personally, and they should also make it a tad smaller
