Hi.

Decided I wanted some input from the FH community about playing an infiltrator.

Basically I'm a merc in a infiltrators body! Played my merc for ages and I'm finally branching out and learning to play my theurg more effectively. However I completed my infi a while ago but have always been 'afraid' to play him . . . for fear of being crap. . . . and boy am I!!!! :fluffle:

His SC is good, with no artis and he has a dex of 390 which I'm happy with. So the templates not the issue.

I only play him rarley when my mains dont get groups but I 'want' to be able to play him well. Played solo last night and in 1 hr 30 mins I died 7 times, killed 2 and made 2300 rps. Not great I know. However, most other hib assasins pwned me soo quickly and easily! They were obviously higher rr but every hit seemed to stun me or they got the opening moves off much quicker than me!

So I'm not whining about that, as I'm going to have to eat dirt more often before I play the class better but I'm looking for any input into how melee stealthers play classes. For instance I figured that /face is very important when you go past a stealther and need to get ya PA off!

So feel free to offer any advice (And dont play a zerger or don't play one is not advice!) to me. And if you can't offer advice, give me a friendly hug after you drop me and you're left on 80% hp :) :)

Been using www.perforateartery.com for a long time, started as an only nightshade forum but is now supporting infil's and sb's aswell - though I dont know if they are as used as much as the ns one.
Read some threads there and ask your questions. All very nice and friendly people who all got sick and tired of the vnboard whine and now insted support each other there.
Im almost sure if you spend some time on that board you will get a lot of help on howto play an assasins - or so did I atleast. Thats the best advice I got for you  that and watching lots of stealther movies to see how other do and get inspiration that way perhaps.

Ohh and btw, really hard playing any stealthers when you are less than rr3.
Imo infils own rr1-5 and nightshades rr5< 'cause of remedy... Heard somebody meantion a third assasin class called shadowblades though ive never seen one in combat... :sex:

a lot of being a assassin is about positioning, and timing. Getting lined up for Pa and picking good places to pop other stealthers etc.
Playing a stealther class is very scary at first, lots of getting killed by high rr players, zerged by scouts and stuff, one thing i can suggest is trying to camp a keep such as beno at first. gets you good at timing the distance between keep door and inner keep door.

there is a lot of luck involved. Evade for DF,is an I win style for infis really, if enemy dosent have purge.

In 1 on 1 against a higher rr stealther the thing is: "Dont be afraid".

If you hesitate a second the bet is you are as good as dead.
See em in stealth instantly try a opener depending on what side are you on.
PA/BS2 and you might get an edge on the fight. If you try to run from it you will prolly get backstabbed.

Also read the log after the opener. Not once or twice I have been hit in the face with a succesfull backstab as the game lags a lot ... even more when the stealths are dropping.

Also watching a lot of movies to get some pointers at start and you will adapt your own style of play as you get higher in rr's.

Just released sb (Civiliel's 4th) movie that was imo great:

I'm not really an assasin..but LW's are invalible...and a good SC TOA'd kit is also very needed.

I played an assasin back in the day a SB..but I have no idea how to play one now, but in general things to avoid as stealthers, bridges..unless you want to zerg/ get zerged..the main thing about stealthing is being somewhere..where you get to make the first move..thats the pinicle of any stealth class even more so the minstrel.

But however that all comes from experiance..you cant be afdriad of trying something/some where new even if you do sit there for 2 hours not making 1 rpt..you'll know that for the future and will try another area.

I won't tell you my favorate spots for obvious reasons, but I rarley get jumped by a stealther unless they happen to know I am arround and look for me or I am hoping to get jumped.

You'll learn :) Keep on soloing and just keep on trying, you will get better and better with time, its the only way really. Attitude is important, play with confidence and dont hesitate, if you loose initiative you have probably lost the fight. Oh and best way to really learn is to go for the hard kills, granted it does get you killed tons of times, but you are kinda forced to play better and better :)

below RR5 is hard vs most higher assassins for sure.

Just dont become one of the albstealtherzergers and sure, i'll hug ya :D Stealtherfights is fun as hell imo, 1vs1, hope you get to feel it too m8.

think when you used to play a real tank,it will be hard to play a stealther, but you know how nasty a well played stealther can be also for a tank if he plays it right

I think the best way to gain the first few RR´s (to rr3.5 ish) is hanging around zergy areas and picking of casters in the back lines with PA while whatever two sides battle it out, often you can get away.. vanish 1 helps.

Run away and repeat. If they dont die from PA + CD or get healed just run of and try again.

I would not advice a fresh lv50 infil to try bridges etc, to much agro all over..

alternative being you team up with other stealthers untill you can crawl and finally walk on your own.
