Stealth dependencies...

I got explained to me that taking stealth over 50 gives you no advantage.
However i read a friday grab bag and got the impression that 1."detect hidded" the stealther vs stealther help in detecting other stealthers. (not the RA) is dependant on your stealth lvl and your lvl in comparison to your opponents.
2. stealth, a ordinary players ability to see a stealthers is also dependednt on your stealth value and lvl in comparison to your opponents.

thus, let us say i have maxed stealth, not that i woul do that but just play with the thought.
and have items with +11
50+11=50+(11/2)=55,5 stealth.

Your stealth buble would still remain the same however i am correct in my suspicions you would be less likely to be uncovered or get seen as shadow directly.
And it would be a direct advantage vs other assasains etc when it comes to being seen with detect hidden (not the RA).
as the formula is stealth+lvl vs stealth+lvl

Any1 care to prove me wrong?

I started thinking of this since some friends of mine have different stealth stats. but same items.
one reaching 51stealth the other 56.
When i use my skald lvl50 and they walk to me the one with the higher stealth pops up later then the one with 51.
I asked them to try it since the 56 one literary popped up on my nose.
while i got a 2step warning on the other.

Not that it matters so extremely much but it is interesting nevertheless, any advantage is a good advantage.

Problem is that I think the game only checks for stealthers in the local area every 3 secs or so. If that is the case then chances are you/them willhave moved and you'll be within thier detection radius too. So the advantages are very limited as you detection radius wont be that much greated than your enemy's.

Basically I dont see the point of using up an awful lot of points to get over 50 stealth for the tiny benefits you could get.

A few tests were done into this on the US servers, they proved that stealth is capped and detect hidden isn't changed for you or the opponent over 50 stealth. Spec stealth at 35 or something, get RR5 and hit 50 that way, over 35 stealth is a bit of a waste really.

This is from the Camelot Herald:

Q: Last week you said that the assassin with a natural 50 in stealth and an assassin with a natural 38 and 12 in +stealth items would be equally hard to detect (although the natural 50 would have better safe fall). But what about if both of them have a natural 50 in stealth, but one of them has 10 in +stealth items? Does it do any good?

A: There is no hard cap on stealth – so the player with a total of 60 points in stealth will be harder to detect (both for PVE and RVR) than the one with 50. Please keep in mind that the difference between the detect rates at 50 and 51 would be so tiny that you’d have to be running developer tools in order to really notice it. At the 50+ level, you won’t see dramatic change.

50 stealth on anything=more gimp than an archer without bow and melee-weapon ;)

Totally agreed: 35 stealth+11 items+RR2 = enuf stealth. N very easy to a achieve aswell.

Only thing over 50 stealth's good for is sneaking to Mids/Hibs in DF, but wasting tons of points just for that...

indeed :p
/me can imagine a lot of dragon-dropped respec stones will eventually be used by infs needing to lower their stealth and raise DW as they ding up in RR's :p

One thing I find a little ironic... minstrels and archers benefit more from 50stealth after items/RR than assassins do. Because if we have 50stealth, detect hidden stops giving assassins a detect range advantage.
Not that I'll have 50stealth until R6 =P d'oh
