His new bloody great computer. Its big, its fast.
I can now play games with bloody fast fps's and bloody amazing image quality. Example: Medal of Honour ran medium with all the detail turned down a few notches on my old T-Bird 800 + GF3Ti200.
I now run it 1280x1024 with everything at max, anti aliasing at 6x and anisotropic set to 8x. It looks the bollocks and there are NO slow downs or screen tearing. Must be averaging about 70 odd fps, probably more.
For those that want to know:
Asus A7NX Deluxe NF2 mobo,
XP2800 o/clocked to 2362.5 Mhz core speed,
Powercolor Rad 9800 Pro (o/clocked by 20% GPU/Mem),
DVD ROM and a DVD RW,
120Gb SATA Maxtor drive,
1gig of DDR 400 RAM (+ passive cooling)
Terratec DMX 6Fire sound card avec bloody great front panel with all the connections you could ever want,
19" Trinitron monitor (got a tasty 17" for my old pute n'all)
and
a bloody great water cooling system that does the CPU, the northbridge and a GPU on the graphics card. All sat in a rather tidy aluminium Lian Li case, which admittedly could've done with being a tad bigger, but hey.
CPU temp never goes above 35 degrees, and that's after a solid 3d workout. Best thing is that half the time, I dont even hear that the computer is switched on.
So, I have my broadband, I have my new PC, plus the old one as a perfectly decent gaming machine for CS/DoD/Shogun purposes, and I am STILL shit at CS.
But I'm shit on a fucking fast computer
