well, surely you can find some solo spot's in NF zone, or u can tower hump as a ranger... whatever make's u feel happy :) -it's rps

good within 14 month's: warlock's got a nerf, not that i could tell, but, hey...

bad within 14 month's: well, i find it hard to solo at primetime (or from 15-16 CET till around 22:00) since cluster came, but again, depend's where you go for your action :)

but all in all id say it's definately worth a shot coming back :)

RvR is repetitive and rediculously predictable, it is still fun at times, but in general the game is really beginning to show its age.

I gave up on rvr recently in favour of the BG's which are great fun :)

What have you missed? ...<takes deep breath>...Well, instant rvr came and went, warlocks are daft, two good new patches coming next week, lot of rangers are now melee specced and doing well, snipers struggle with all the bladeturns, brittal guards, BG etc out there and there are some funky new bows and blades and the new epic armour. You now get rvr titles, realm points will soon be a lot easier to get, assassins are going to become really nasty with an upcoming patch, wardens are getting shield spec, ani's and VW's are as rare as rocking horse shit in rvr, albs only have to look at you now to interrupt you, mids only have to look at you to insta kill you, we now have mounts! which look great, but generally are pointless in rvr, stealth groups are common, everyone adds, no one cares, there is a secure forum for soloers to arrange duelling, we got clustered with prydwen, half the population buggered off to Classic servers which arent classic at all, just castrated ToA-less servers, we now have to lvl to 50, then lvl artifacts, then get more xp for master levels and NOW champion levels (yay!, go Mythic, great content additions..hmm, how can we add content without doing fek-all, i know lets make em grind MORE xp!..great idea!)......oh, and we have some new emotes ....<gasps for air>....

Thats it in a nutshell ;)

No BG's for level 50 chars no

they still are, its just that a combination of IP, WH, SoM, MoS/Camo and heaters lets them beat assassins once every 15 minutes
If you dont have these, assassins will still rip you a new one, and even with these good assassins with viper and poision spike who reapply poisions will probably still beat you.
The patch coming at the end of this month makes toa easier, catacombs brought us easier levelling and a few nice items for rangers/others like forest stalker belt, azuria belt, rapture neckie.
Darkness rising brought us champ levels, which give access to subclassing, most stealthers go for the self resists buff line, giving them 10% extra magic resists on a 10 min buff, and 5% melee resists insta cast for 60secs, as well as fixed 3sec cast time heals that heal for about 70points. You can get these abilities by gaining champ level xp, either thru rvr, plain old grinding or questing, getting champ level 5 will also give you approx 200 extra hit points.

Darkness rising also brought the champ weapons, rangers have the choice of a very nice 10% qual 5.7 speed bow or a mainhand/offhand blade/piercer.
The bow is probably the best champ weapon and is slower for better critshots than even teh scout bow, which caused much wailing and nashing of teeth on VN.

champ level weapons

champ level subclassing

Rangers also get safe fall1 next patch ;)
Assassins get loving next patch, which gave all assassins remedy as a RR5 ability, and boosted critstyles from stealth to bypass and destroy those pesky brittle guard zergs so many casters run around with. SB's can also turn their weapons sideways and do crush damage :eek7: so any armour advantage you had as a hib stealther is gone. The new assassins poiions next patch will effect pierce users as much as blade users so there is less reason in using pierce, you'll have to max 2 stats for no extra benefit once you are debuffed. Therefore a malice and some other blade is very popular even amoung low str race stealthers.

As far as the new classes are concerned, warlocks are the ultimate in stupid classes added to this game. They basically are unkillable for archers, they can level to 50, put on some crappy oceanus rogs and run out and reap the sort of rp's that other classes can only dream of. They do insane frontloaded damage, and have in some cases replaced the hunters avatar as a favoured pet. If you find yourself firing your bow or meleing and suddenly you are dead and read
"MyMainCharsNameLock laughs at you"
chances are it was a warlock

The other mid classes is the valkyrie, and is usually played by peeps who either like a challenge or are masocists in real life :p

Alb got 1 class with catacombs, the heretic, kinda like a reaver in cloth, but dont let that fools you, they have insane ABS and you would be lucky to break 100 mainhand on them as a ranger, and as they have shield spec your bow wont help much either, a very underrated class.

Hibs got the bainshee and the vamp, bainshees have buggy los on their cone area of effect attacks and so have been reaping in the rps also, especially at bridges, vamps are a selfbuffed class that cast spells with their left hand and weild a piercer in their right (no-one left handed is allowed to be a vamp, so bear that in mind in the char creation screen)
