I gave DAoC up about six months ago in an effort to save my marriage. Unfortunately, I lost that particular battle, and now that I am single again thought perhaps I might like something to fill in the bleak and lonely evenings ;)

I am considering coming back to DAoC, but as I no longer have my old accounts, I am starting afresh.

I thought I'd roll a rejuv/enhance Cleric, and was wondering how I'd find getting groups now that most people can make insta Lvl 20 characters?

I do not mind putting the work in, and if I have to solo doing KTs until Lvl 20...I guess I could spec smite/enhance until 20 to make things easier for myself.

I see the Realm is short of decent heal Clerics, and I always enjoyed playing heal classes in the past (Lvl 50 Druid on Hib/Pryd), so am happy to play that role again.

Opinions?

well about the levelin part.. after 20 its not a prob i think, maybe someone nice on this board can help u assend to that lvl.

about rejuv/enh cler, most clers go rejuv/smite atm cus there are soo much buffbots that enh really isn't neccesary in rvr.

but u must play the way u want to, not like evry one else.. :p

well ne way, my account is almost on.. i need to lvl my necro to 50 from 48 so if u are in need when i'm back i'll let u leech a bit :)

I think getting to Lvl 20 doing KTs should be possible within 4 or 5 evenings worth of play solo, so I will have a go doing that first.

Bizarrely, I've always found Lvl 3-5 very difficult, no styles/spells etc. so I'll try to get to Lvl 5 as fast as I can ;)

As for final spec, I will have a look and see. I love the idea of smite, but I want to be a very good healing and buffing Cleric first and foremost - a BB cannot replenish expired buffs unless they are stuck to the group, so there is still a place for a rejuv/enhance spec character if played well IMHO ;)

I think 1-20 will be quite drawn out, but at least it will give me time to settle back into the game again...just need to order the discs now! :)

It would be a nightmare there though as a Lvl 1 character - everyone just about has /level 30 there, and there are fewer (or there were certainly fewer players in the Realm when I was there last) players there than in the other Realms.

I'll give it a miss - initially at least ;)

I guess since you don't have a wife (and perhaps not even a life) to worry about now (congratulations!) you could get two accounts. On one, make a necro and on the other your cleric. Play them together. :D Spec full enhance on the cleric till 35 or whatever it is and then rest into rejuv.

Simple. :D Noone can stand in your way!

still enuf peeps around not doing /level 20 =)

anyway, around 17 u can be a keltoi rejuv cleric. another 3 less levels to solo.

kinda hard sometimes but occasionally it works out allright.

Thanks to all for the kind replies.

I was considering the possibility of going to play on the US servers instead, but think I'd miss all my old friends too much :(

Looks like I'll have to endure GOA's legendary bad services yet again! :)

If you've got the choice between US and EU servers and don't mind playing with about 700-1200 people primetime then US is your best bet.

As u can see by the number of Hib posters in the alb forum, even the realm enemies dont wanna miss out on the alb expirience... ;)

And even tho we got GOA, its still better than missing all the raids and events on US because u are sleeping... :)

Yeah, there seems to be quite a few people on Morgan Le Fay who have played Euro DAoC.

go full smite till level 20. You can solo easy then.

At 20 do a respec out of smite to the spec you like, from 20+ its easy to find groups.

The only think that's depressing me is the crappy Guild colours/emblems Albion gets compared to Hib and Mid :(

I must confess to being a bit anal when it comes to my character's appearance - I like them to look just right ;)
