Starting again, mostly solo

I'm starting again and I'd like to know a good solo pve character that is decent for pvp later on, I may never hit 50 but want some fun in the battlegrounds in the meantime.

Any advice?

Usually saying what REALM you're playing on/or want to play on is a start. Any class with a lifetap/dot for Thid.

Don't even need to know realms now - start a Mauler assuming you get LOTM.

Heven't seen anyone in Battlegrounds except the odd XP'er killing the mobs there for ages now

And, yeah Mauler seems to be the way to go for a mix of PvE and RvR fun.

He meant to say, starting again, mostly 'emo' so realm is insignificant
