Again Xer makes a twat of himself. The way the HL engine was written is that it was optimised for OpenGL. Alot (if not ALL) decals will not show in D3D mode.

Switch to OpenGL. This includes spray logos, bomb site markers, some extra scenery (like signs on walls eg. Aztec), bullet holes too iirc.

Just change back to OpenGL.

Perp is correct (again)

Xer is incorrect (again)

when in d3d u may need to change one of the variables -either in the config or in the console

i think the one u need is gl_polyoffset

2 get it to work properly i had 2 set it 2: "-0.001"

u may need a different value - try somewhere between +1 and -1

i AM right in this cos i had the same problem - i dont use opengl cos 4 some reason it aint stable on my pc

I used to play CS exclusively in D3D mode. When I changed to OpenGL, I discovered all these bullseyes, hostage signs and such, that I never knew existed. So I'd go with the explanation from Perplex.

Changing it to OpenGL does bring back the sprays, etc but opengl runs unstable on my computer as well. I tried Vroom's suggestion and he does know what he is talking about; it worked (with -0.001)
Thanks a lot bro

aye that will fix it, but generally GL is quicker and more stable than D3D. If you have to run D3D (because GL is unstable) then fair enough, otherwise I'd go with GL.

i find d3d gives me better fps, and looks the same as openGL on me GeForce 2 GTS pro
