Spellcrafting Guide

Anyone have some links for spellcrafting guides and calculators.

I've gone through the ones on www.camelotherald.com understand the calculator, but get lost in the tutorial. Theres so many variables to take into account.

Also, is it possible to ADD or REMOVE stats on an item you have crafted ?

Thanks just tinkering in it - theres no way i would want to do this seriously, but it fills in the gaps when I cant find a group.
