hmm, ppl complain about overcharged stuff prices, since they paid 15p for a set of armour and dont have money left...
Mateial cost for a set of af 102 is about 1.8p
So complain to the armourcrafters for overcharging.
But no its a totally fair price... they have to make 1-200 tryes to make 1 piace of armour MP.
Well tha sc has to run off to the merc every 5 mins and bye (at 500 pnts) 800 items (not in 20 pack, but click 800 times on the item) to make 30 gems = 15 pnts in SC.
So plz, pay up or go hunt a drop =)

have been abit greedy the first few days with SC, but now im trying to make a fair price if ppl ask me if they can buy some gems.. i usually say Costprice in total +10g for the time etc. and i think most other ppl should charge that way so we can set a avg. price for getting your stuff imbued so the price is a constant and not some lame n00b that is chargeing 100g for a gem that costs around 10g to make which i have seen Fluffylamb do, and when i ask about the price in /gu some ppl says that they have been ripped for a gem that i would have sold em for the material cost.. so shall we set a price or ?

This is fair, by the time you start making stuff in large enough quantities it's yellow/blue and thus not something you would likely be trying to gain skill on.
I had 3 weapons made and a shield, imbued 2 weapons and the shield and the largest cost has been the weapons themselves, 99% takes a few retries and suits me, cant be bothered with the epxense of a MP.
Guild SC'er did a good job, gave him a bit of extra cash over the cost of the gems and both happy.
A lot of prices recently have been anything but fair, think while most of us appreciate the cost of gains in SC, you risk scaring off low to mid lvl customers who don't have unlimited cash like the tiny minority of players who can afford MP and 100% gems (strangely enough not many high lvl players have that much cash either, since we gave it to our crafters, lowbies etc).
Scare a customer off=omfg xxxxx charges xxx gold! in guildchat, 1 unhappy customer tells on avg 10 people ;)

for friends i will do it at cost price, and for other ppl i will do it at cost price and a bit more, tbh i cant be arsed to sit down and work out all the percentages and the mark up and all that. for lofff i did a few gems for his ammer, only cost me 10gp and i only charged him 10gp (tryed to do it for nothing but the bugger wouldnt let me :p) and i ended up with 40gp. So if your kind and dont try to fk ppl over with prices you will get more money in the end

Something to bear in mind whenconsidering prices a ripoff is that SCer's who've sponsored their own crafting have to make their money back somehow. After spending 15p+ to get themselves to 1000 SC, it's kinda harsh to expect them to recoup their losses at 10g per item...

this is how im gonna work it

x3 per cost of gem i think this is fair been they cost so little to make MP will be around x8

for imbuing lvls 5-20 5g per piece
lvls 20-30 10g per piece
lvls 30-40 20g per piece
lvls 40-50 25g per piece

although i will probably work this out by the AF later on. i find these prices fair i am more or less funding my self with only a few ppl in the guild helping me now and again when u get a real nice piece of armour with great stats on and u complain about paying 100-200g (dont think i would charge that much for anythin) i think that sucks the same item may have dropped off legion or other uber mobs at some point and then u would have paid plats for that item. so ask yourself who is the one been really selfish.

I personally think that charging more than x3 cost is a BIT much. However, i do respect that any crafter must charge what they feel is appropriate for their time and 'skill'. Maybe x2 is more realisitic if you would like a regular flow of customers.
I've also heard of some crafters trying a base x2 or x3 cost but adding an additional 5/10g. Hence making a few gold from an unprofitable/low imbue with the difference being negligable on higher items

Anyway, just an idea:

(Initial material cost * {Highest quality gem required - 92} * No. of gems) / No. of gems = Price

Yes.

Of course making low level gems is a waste of time and skill of a highlevel crafter - but he contacted me and offered to do it. :)

Quite simply because everyone except you replied with interest about the topic.

When you think everyone else is wrong, it maybe - just maybe - is you that is wrong.

Intersting read.

To all those who wanna charge 3-4x cost price, you will most likely be undercut and will get hardly any trade whatsoever, picture the TNN broadcast channel.......

/Customer: "i want "x" imbuned onto my hauberk, 99% RF AF (whatever), how much will it cost?"

/SC1: "It will cost you 100 gold, bring the item and be warned that if those stats require overcharging and it goes boom, im wont be responsible for the item, and still want paying for my lost gems"

/SC2: "Ill do it for 90, same deal, but cheaper :)"

/SC3: "Pfff, thats still 3x the materials cost, ill do it for 60gold :p"

/SC4: "60 gold is still 2x materials price :p"

The more SC's that gain 800+, the less the chances that the public will be willing to pay a 300% markup, its called SUPPLY and DEMAND, basic economics.

Also, crafted armour is so expensive, i doubt many non-50's will want to spend silly amounts of cash on throw-away armour/weapons. Whats the point of a lvl 38 having a FS of crafted, SC'd kit to go and kill mobs?!?!?!?!

When Jewelry comes in and you can make bracers, rings etc, you will make back yer losses easily, you craft AND imbune the item.

Peace out.

I was merely trying to express my opinion which is this is not important people will charge what they a. can get away with or b. think is a reasonable price. I will go to the people who use the b. method.
