Spector exits Ion Storm?

Shacknews are reporting that Eidos will be laying off around 20 to 35 staff, including Warren Specter. With Thief 3 (demo, 427MB) just released, this news if true does come as a shock.

Update: It appears this could be the start of something larger for Eidos. Rumours of the company about to go through a name change and develop for the PS2 only? - SAS

Bluesnews have a comment from an Eidos rep:

"Ah rumors... well that sounds like a good one... but it is just a rumor, he certainly has not been laid off."

So I guess we can all breathe easy

Yeah but, if Eidos ARE going PS2 dev only, surely that means Deus Ex 3, and the next Thief games will be PS2 (only?)?

Far enough, DE2 is a bit pantaloons, but there's always hope for 3...
