Special Realm Ability Research

I've been wondering. Who on Midgard, in Prydwen have special realm abilities and please tell me of their use. I've been talking a lot about the subject special realm abilities but know little about their in-game effect or how many midgardians actually buy them. Even if I know the healer special realm ability all well, please, if you have a Special Realm Ability (unique to your class) do tell about it.

What I'd like to know is. Do you find it efficient? What is the common effect? (does it get resisted a lot?) What is your experience in using it?

I'd imagine that one of Midgard's weaknesses might be the lack of special realm abilities, here's your chance to either prove me wrong or prove me right, I'm just curious.

I'm only interested in Midgard special realm abilities.

You mean the class uniques?

If so, then I, as a shaman, have Ichor of the deep(on camlann) which is an instant ae DD + root for ~20 sec or so.

It does about 300 damage in the center before resists, and the fact that its insta CC makes it a great tool imo.

All in all, i _really_ like the RA, and wouldnt ever respec out of it.

Healers get 'Perfect Recovery' which is an instant ressurection on a 30 minute timer.
It costs no mana and resurrects the target with full end, full power, and full hp.

It's quite handy sometimes but it does not win a battle with more than like 5 ppl on either side.

The bad thing about it is that someone obviously has to die before it's useful. I would prefer having something that prevents ppl from dying to be honest (like clerics group melee resist buffer thingy).

Nobody I know uses the unique Zerker RA ...

... it gives a penalty for using 2 Axes !

Volley and longshot are worthless imo on hunters and i tried true sight out and really it wasnt worth the points so repecc'd out of it.

30 min timer and active for 1 min .. had to be sure someone was there to see and only way to be sure is when the infil is sticking blades in you heehee

Think you can pretty sure Ichor and Perfect Recovery are about the only 2 anyone bothers with

at least inchor and PR has some use in rvr/pve, i mean what the hell would a skald want another group dmg add on a 30 min timer for 14RSP.

Most of the SM specific RAs are worthless. Every single one of them is pet based. None are directly offensive, but rather focused on that half seen floating head that nobody specs except for pure PvE characters ;)

You can make the pet run faster for 30 seconds, but it gets dropped out of speed buff by pretty much anything.

You can make it attack faster for 30 seconds. Again, worthless for most, since very few have a strong pet. You would have to highly spec the rather-useless-for-RvR summoning line before this had much effect on enemies.

The only useful Pet-based RA imo is Wild Minion, because this makes your pet crit more, so you have a higher chance of stunning that Inf chewing on your ass. This can make up a little for weak pet buffs.

The only good RAs for SMs are the generic ones that everyone gets like MoC, Wild Power, etc.

Most classes complain of fairly pointless class-specific RAs as there are very few classes with genuinely useful ones.

I think you should check the 1.60 patch notes, cant remember for certain, but i think the timers have been changed to 1min and 5min for volley and longshot

My shammy has Ichor, great RA, but i wouldn't waste 14 points on it if we were given an instant root to spec in (as I believe we should have)

Thanes static tempest was tested by me cuz I didn't think that anything that expencsive (14) can be so useless that it seemed.. but it was. 30 secs stun cloud (AE) making stun every 7secs and the stun is for 2 secs. The visual effects is very nice.
What was I looking for? Maby it could interrupt every 7secs or this type of stun was able to stick more then once. It has some use on moving zergs tho making them split up and cause some confusion.. but its not worth it.
I used my RA respec to evaluate this Static Tempest.
Just act as it doesn't exsist so don't bother thinking about it or talk about it...

RM:s Rune of Decimation is in the same division as Mastery of water.

They still arent even close to be worth the 24 points that it would cost to get them though. :(

Battery of Life is going to be a very nice RA for healers, but as always nothing that will keep the healer up since the battery only goes to the group members and not the healer. So if healer wanna be able to provide a decent pox and CC they are still stuck with 2 shity instean heals that boths together gives less then IP and fells real bad using a group heal to keep uself up.
Maybe time has come when mids actually while provide protection for the healers :)

Battery of life suffers from the fact that any damage at all takes juice from the battery - fall damage and +CON buffs will use the battery to heal to full, so a lot of time a fair bit of the battery is used up before you enter combat. The battery is also considered to be a bit small considering the cost of the RA.

Personally, I'm going to ignore Perfect Recovery and Battery of Life and get Mastery of Concentration instead.

Personally I'm going to keep perfect recovery and switch my Mastery of Concentration for Battery of Life when we get it. I dont really think MoC is worth it for a healer to be honest.

And Zapzi, 38pac 35mend gives you two 75% instas, second best power regen and the 150 radius insta stun/mez. And no, this spec won't let you get Celerity! <gasp>

lol, in the last 24 hrs they have just decreased cost and timers yet again, down to 15 seconds now, and 6 & 8 points. Are they worth it yet :)

Yay so i get to hit bladeturn every 15 secs with volley instead of every 30 mins heehee

Still dont think its worth speccing unlesss you are in a zerg and want to get rp from as many hits as possible. Other than that pretty usless
