Spear of Kings

Need some advice on this. Have tried seven times now to do this for a guildie.

We have tried every method listed on VoS.. all people inside the temple.. tanks inside, healers outside etc... and every time no credit. We know it isn't a guaranteed drop but all other artfact encounters give credit even if the arti doesn't drop.

Anyone know what we might be doing wrong or know if this is bugged and have had the same problem ?

You only get credit when arti drops. Part of the story to it is you take the pitted spear out of the temple and it turns into the Spear of Kings, this is when you get credit.
