Treated myself to a long overdue upgrade:

Athlon 1.9+ XP
Geforce 3
512mb DDR
SB Audigy

Now need to replace my poxy ickle cheapo speakers with a decent (but not too expensive) system.

Maybe Creative Inspire 5.11-5300 ?

Ideas / suggestions?

The inspire is apparently well matched for the Audigy!

I got an Audigy but mines a 3 piece speaker system, as space is at premium :(

Fortunately they are ACE

ALTEC LANSING ATP3's

http://www.thetechzone.com/reviews/speakers/altec_lansing/atp3/

But I gather you want a 5 piece cos ya got lots of space!!! ya lucky sod!!! :D
Can't really help ya with the 5 piece soz!!!
But if space is tight then get these beauties!

The new creative inspire 5 piece set is decent system for a low price. I really like klipsch promedia's speakers. The cheapest set of speakers is I think retails for $179. And its a 2-piece 200 watt set with a sub but they are great speakers, they put out a lot of sound. Right now I have cambridge fps 2000 digital speakers I got for $200 2 years ago and I like them.

Why not look at the Altec Lansing ATP5's (4.1 system) - nice speakers but no decoding ability.

I've got my PC hooked up to a Marantz PM66 KI-Signature amplifier and a pair of Mission 752 Freedoms, with a Marantz CD63 MkII KI-Signature CD player for when I pall of the crap mp3 quality (even good ones are nowhere near CD Quality). Cost me nigh on 1500 quid including cabling, but it shows even Klipsch stuff a thing or two about sound quality :) Unfortunately I don;t wanna take that setup to uni with me, so I have to stick with a Sony CMT-CP500MD micro system. Still packs a fairly large wallop tho :)
