However, GOA keep backups of all player characters deleted or otherwise for a period of time.

Go to the www.camelot-europe.com website, follow the HELP section, this will bring you to your personal account that allows you to ask a question directly of GOA. I asked them for assistance, and got a reply the next day.

They CAN reinstate all your characters, simply tell them exactly what happened, the names of your characters, the server on which u play.

Im not certain, but i have been told that this has occurred on US servers before, addiction does terrible things

When i had my Char redone i recived all my items/money back so it is possible.

In most of the cases GOA will restore your char, but w/o ANY items or RPs...!

I bet its possible, if you can do rollbacks it means you know of his existance as well .D (do NOT do a rollback, but check log or whatever)

Thanks guys I wrote to GOA through using the Rightnow thing and am just waiting a reply. But from what I can gather, chars are restored but no items, rps, cash are. Wait and see I guess

Was told by a reliable source that you get chars back, but not items to prevent givin yer kit to a m8, deleting characters, then complaining coz yer chars are reinstated with no kit.

At least u can get uyer guys back.

Think you can get items if they're on the char when it's deleted, if you chars were stripped first then it's probably going to mean naked level 50s

dang, I'm an alb I know but still harsh to hear you lost your chars :/

They keep the 4 last deleted chars you had in memory and yes it is possible to get em back

If your char corrupted, you will get no items/rp's etc back or so I hear unfortunately
If some1 deleted your chars who you lent the chars to then a similar thing would happen
Any other situations and i THINK they restore them with everything...if for example it really was their fault

Anyways, best of luck and if you don't get em back, hope hibs r kind enough to help you out getting some items and cash back

Thanks all for the help and offer to help out This is how things stand and GOA are unwilling to help anymore:

lvl50 hero and bard restored with no items, armour, money or anything.
lvl48 nightshade - unrecoverable

Apparently GOA restored the characters to exactly the time at when they were deleted and so are saying that who deleted my chars also ran around and moved or sold all my stuff and moved all the cash or gave it to someone etc.

So having 2 lvl50 chars who cant do anything except craft and losing a lvl48 nightshade is too much and so I have cancelled my subscription and when it runs out I wont be playing anymore.

I gladly give ya a plat or more if that can help ya. Loss of items is not that bad now that spellcrafting have arrived anyways. Two level 50s is enough for most players, so i assume it should for you as well. Cant let things like this stop ya mate! The nightshade thing sucks, really think they should remake it simply case all hibernia can prove you had it. Xp is fun though, so just to make a new char of some kind =)

The epics and armors and such is no problem to recover though, so lets start rebuilding spank shall we?

edit : actually, now that I think about it, why don't they take the clock back a little further, and see who the hacker might have given the money too? It's pretty much the same principle they use for catching and banning cheaters.

unless of course you use a fixed IP to conenct to the game?

maybe they could check this too tell the diff?

just curious spank but do you give ur account details to anyone at all ever even family or shit like that?

Not so hard to find who was using his acc, most people have dynamic ips nowadays, and they only have to search for a similiar ip in the database, if it matchs its the same person. Usually its another daoc player.

Fucking useless, abysmal customer service.
If they dont have the utilities to deal with such a situation they arent fit to be running an online gaming service.

Hacking is a common problem in games like DAoC, and they should have the facilities to be able to restore ALL characters to thier previous state.

If the items where stole or deleted when the hacker got on, thats should also be traceable.

But dont quit spank
We can give you cash, get you started up again, all it takes is a couple of DF guild hunts and u got 100's of diamonds to salvage, so you can make yourself a "decent" set of armour, and Xental is almost at 1000SC.

The NS tho.. its still on the XML reports they could at least create you a new character.
Is THIER fault its not there. If your chars were deleted and new ones created your Bard would of been lost as it was the 1st char on the list. The NS being 3rd shouldn't.
Again poor service, they cant even backup a fking database.
So much for "Your character has been saved".

We could riot, or strike, I am serious here...it would get great coverage all over the game sites.

The whole of hibernia could log into a zone and crash it for 20-30 minutes, just to show we mean business. I would recommend doing it near dagda.

GOA's back ups are worse than the council i work for, there is NO reason why they cant bring back ya lil midget shade if they got back your bard, the money and items i can understand them not bringing them back (happened a lot in UO) but the chars is just childish. i agree with Nol (OMG !!1) we all do or sign somethin that will wake mythic up and show them what a piss poor job goa are doing of runing their game,

Dont usually go in for this kinda stuff, but the current state of customer support is laughable. We pay good money for a service and a commodity that they supply, without us, they lose trade. I speak of the horiffic state of the server mainly, but not keeping character backups for at least a month is ridiculous!

Am seriously considering not renewing my subby when it comes up again.
