Bah! Thanes are so overpowered they only need to be lvl 40 to do proper RvR!

Urme stop spreading such evil lies. It was all me... and maybe Kilix (a little) that carried that group, all you Warriors say you don't duel healers because it isn't a challenge but we know the truth - your afraid, so very afraid

Besides... anyone with half a brain knows Kindar spends his free time making daisy chains and baking cookies

This is a discussion on the Viability of Thane Gank Groups - if I remember correctly at the time this particular screenie was taken you were off playing with another guild. Its pretty old

To be totally honest i'm not even 100% sure it was an RvR group, it was kind of a shoddy screenie. But I figured the picture of the group window would make for an interesting discussion .

I mean think about it, Thanes are defensive hybrids - which means that they rely less on support in the form of healing than Savages, their also able to cast and insta interupt which could make them the bane of caster groups.

Really the only things holding them back are their Hit Points and Weapon Skill tables. That and their inability to gain access to Determination, but with any luck that'll be addressed in 'New Frontiers' - i'm not holding my breath but I wouldn't be too surprised if one day Thanes will become an indespensible part of the 'Gank Group' setup.

Edit - Forgot to add in their inability to Evade, poor blighters their the only tank in Midgard without this ability

Actually truth be told i've been lvling a Thane recently, I know its not the same as RvR but he's still got a respectable dmg output against orange/red cons. He's not even fully SCed

with the existing and upcoming changes to stormcalling we are starting to be able to do reasonable damage, although having gone toe to toe with a reaver whilst buffed the other day whilst bored and soloing in emain i cried when I was doing 60 damage a pop on the odd occasion i hit when he was hitting me for 200+

And that's with a full sc setup.

60?? Sounds weird. I have pretty much fun in bg3 with my norse Thane fooling around. Last time i hitted a Pally was something like 150 damage.

Maybe the reaver was ubah buffed with that damn AF buff. Or the dude specced AP? 0_O

Yeah I think he must have had super high af buffage and abs buffage. I think I was seeing over 50percent abs but I could be wrong.

Whatever it was it was scary

tbh i think no tank can solo a reaver 1on1, stlongest and most evull melee char ever (thou they lack determ for gank style rvr i know i know before someone mention it but still.. u know what im talkin about)

Reavers are good 1 vs 1, but i wouldn't say they are the best. My call would be a Thane or warrior instead. Nothing beats a good brutalize and a 2h cleaving those albs ! >

i think it would kill your warrior but not sure about thane vs reaver, they both very nice.
but ofc i may be wrong

lemme guess..you a hammerthane? those tincan pallies must go down pretty easy

crush v alb chain, in case of the reaver fares a bit worse

reavers are evul ..slam + levi makes me hunter
