I still pick up my old NTL addresses. I don't know why, cos most of them (99%) are just spam.

Strange, I dont get any spam thro my ntl address. Unless you count the Game.net newsletters

my dad gets 2-3k emails per day, of which about 80-90% are spam.

this is because he has about 20 websites, about 5 email addies on each, and they are highly ranked on google.

oh well.

I've started getting about 5 or 6 a day this week - very annoying.

I enabled Spam Assassin on the mail server though, must say that I'm very impressed with it - has marked everything that's come in so far.

I have no idea why this is, I only have 2 email accounts if thats any clue, a BT one and my barrysworld one.

It depends on how often you use newsgroups, if your email addy is on a website, and if anyone with you in their address book gets a virus.

Don't get any on my personal account, simply by not entering it into any web site, except the BBC. Put it down as your addy for anything on the net these days and you're fucked. Even if they claim they'll never do anything with it.

But, my BW account has now started receiving about 6-10 a day. But, this is the addy I use for web site contact info so it had to come one day. Seemed fine for years, then suddenly after registering for something (I can't remember what now) it went.
