Is quite probably the best sitcom to squeeze out of Britain in the last 10 years. Bought the series 1 and 2 box set today (HMV exclusive, £30) after re-viewing a few episodes courtesy of Kazaa. FUNNY! Worth listening to the commentary as well.

It's rare to see a modern comedy with so much attention to detail, such talented performances and such intricate and humourous editing.

The only other two comparable calibre comedies which spring to mind are The Office and Blackadder Goes Forth.

There may be a discussion in this post. See if you can find it...

Yeah, s'fking good stuff. What about League of Gentlemen though? On a par or better I reckon.. current series is looking like it's going to be one of those never-to-be-repeated classics, something magical and one-off and scary. But yeah, Spaced was shockingly good - I love the way it projects an air of amateurish abandon but as soon as you look at it for more than 5 seconds you realise how finely crafted it is.

League of Gentlemen is about as funny as Phoenix Nights. Or Cannon and Ball. Or Jim Davidson. Or Belgium. Hang on that wasn't fair, even the Belgians are funnier than Peter Kay.





P.S Just bought series 1 of The Office. Now that's how you make comedy.

Series 2 of Spaced especially, it just all came together so well. There aren't many TV shows I'll actually make an effort to watch.

The first two eps of scrubs were good. Then it started getting gay and sentimental. Far far too sentimental.

And yes, spaced is fucking ace. S1 is better than 2, by a smidge. If you listen to the commentary, you'll find out that every other line is a reference to a film, that's what I love about it

Agreed, office is the best thing to be shown on bbc2 for ages, has me in stitches from start to finish.
Have been watching the series one dvd loads since it came out.
