Soundcard/software problem

I cant seem to get any programs to register my microphone. Its plugged in, and i can hear it when i speak into it and tap it, but none of the programs can pick it up (the play control, sound recorder etc.) its up to full and the 20db mic boost is ticked.

its loud enough. just that it no longer gets picked up. it did work before (used it for callserve telephone) but alas nolonger.


I have a Live!Value s/card if that helps
