any idears had this problem since i started have allways used forced modles to stops it, but would be nice if i could sort it out once and for all.

when i get killed I get repeating sounds and lockups, in the consol i get a few lines of text say,> unable to find taunt for hunter wave useing default or somit like that hope that helps .

Sounds like you could do with reinstalling q3 and/or ra3.

isnt that just the enemy model bug? cus i get the same thing and to stop it i use keel as enemy model and sarge as team model.

well i use tankjr as enermy modle and xeron as team modle and it's fine like this
but if i turn the force modles off (see all the moddles it borked)
and my brother is using the same install as me for ra3 and his is fine no sound problems atal ?
i have tried different cfg's so i now it's not them, have also reinstaled loads of times still the same, could be either the point release or the q3 disk i have that has corupt files on it maybe ???? don't think it's the point release as i think my brothers using the same copy of that as well which just leaves quake 3 arean itself !!!!!!! could the disk be corupt ????
may be i will get a copy of me brothers and use my cd key try that what you think ??

It definately seems to be missing files. It is possible to open .pak files with winzip to see if the files it refers to are indeed missing. You could try to extract the relevant files from the .pak files on the CD (or from your brothers .pak files) and then rewrite them to the .pak files on your HD ........ but this may or may not work. Or, copy your brothers .pak files. Seems odd tho that they are missing. Have you downloaded lots of custom stuff like skins, sounds, map, mods, etc? You could try deleting all the non-essential stuff, as sometimes custom .pak's can send things a bit bonkers.
Forced models will help your fps and system resources though, so unless you are really keen to see all the different models, I'd do without it if I were you.

thx Chameleon n1 will try that opening them with winzip and take a gander but copy my brother pak files sounds like a good idear.
